If the appearance is meant to remain challenging for the life of the patch / expansion, and does not include some gear cap mechanism, it's clearly going to be tuned for max gear at the end of the patch/expansion, vs. what most people have now. I can't believe anyone's even wasting their time yet.
The archmage Xylem is dealing damage with his AOE frost meteors even after we already left the meteor area in the third phase. C'mon blizz.
It's amazing to me how many people didn't pay any attention to information about the patch at all. Yes, getting the appearance is hard. Yes, buildings get destroyed after three days. No, you don't get to pick the buff (people that only contributed via the bugged app can be forgiven here, but anyone that used the table does not get a pass, as the buff has been listed there all along).
So I am not here to complain about it being overpowered or anything like that, but I want to share my experience as feral doing this. I have not finished this yet, but I am going to keep trying to do this because I feel like it's doable. my ilvl is 905. I will say that this fight is a challenge and there is a way to complete it if you don't mess up.So lets get down with a little bit of a guide here. Talents: 1111323When the fight first starts out she will spawn 3 fire imps that shoot fireballs at you and after each hit their damage increases. Apply rake and thrash to them. After that brutal slash them down and that should kill them. About the time you get done killing them she will spawn two imp servents that heal her when they get close. What I do is apply a finisher to agatha like rip and use that PS on roots on one of them to keep them back. For the other I will mighty bash and apply bleeds. depending on how far back i feel will use DOS and draught one of the imps if i am feeling like I am falling behind. After you kill one move other to the other. I went ahead and had five points before i moved to the other so i could maim the other and have him stunned while I applied bleeds and he would die there and not heal agatha. after she does this she will have a bubble around her. pop cd's and burn through that bubble after you burn through that bubble interrupt her unlimited time spell which deals a crapton of damage. during this time she spawns imps that will drop plague when they get within melee range. What I would do is go to the edge of the room on other side and let them drop plague there. After this is pretty much the same fight from what i have seen in the videos. after 50% she does move to the back of the room and boulders start coming through each side of the room move around them with dash or stamp roar. after this it's the same thing over and over again with the boulder's until you kill her.
I never want things just handed to me, but purposefully making it so only the top players can do this is about as worse programming scheme they can do. Since everything is scalable this xpac, more players the mobs are harder, better geared the mobs are harder, why wouldn't they do the same thing for solo players who don't have the best mystic gear. My mage is my highest iLvL geared character I have, she's at iLvL 860. I don't do dungeons, esp mystics as I'm not in a guild. And pugging those is insane. Thus, once more, blizzard catered to the top players and give a do do to any casual player. Well, it's not like this is something "needed" to play the game, as I've been told countless times with other things. So, once again, I'll just play like I want, and do without that "special" look on my weapon. It would be nice if once in a while Blizzard would realize they have more than one player base. Not everyone has the desire to be the top dps, tank, healer. Not everyone wants to play pvp, some of us don't like it at all. No, I don't want things handed to me on a silver platter, but I also would like to be able to compete in them with some semblance of having a chance to complete it. Is that really to much to ask for Blizzard? Really?
Mage Tower was supposed to last to be built, not first.
Another thing I noticed about the fight against Xylem:What makes the second to the last frost phase harder than the first one is that there are frost bolts coming from behind, they're way stronger than the ones Xylem casts by himself.EDIT: the damage comes from the meteor, it shouldn't damage us when we're outside of its area.
I really wish this was actually based purely on skill rather than you HAVE to have the best possible gear to even have a chance of this, which some people really don't have time to do mythic tier content along with doing all the other content. We already have the Balance of Power looks as the gear gated one. That being said, even though the tower is somewhat a waste, I'm glad it got built first so that perhaps Blizzard refines it so that it's more attainable for everyone.
wtf is this %^&*? with gear 908 i'm dying after 1 sec of blizzard, cant even use defensive. Are you retarded blizzard? Xylem seems like bugged because its impossible to get 5kk in 1 second -,-
This is a load of bull. Absolutely disgusting.
Yeh don't even bother with the extra AP. They nerfed it to the ground. I did 7 normal mythics and got 1 tome of the magi. Thx blizzard.
ITT: people who didn't do the Green Fire quest when it was relevant. You're meant to spend at least an hour or two learning the encounter. Kinda like how raid progression is, but by yourself. Hard punishes for failing like one shots are intended. You aren't meant to try twice and get it. Every death will make it that much sweeter when you do finally nail it. It's not a gear check, but yes when Tomb comes out and you get better gear it will become easier and easier.
All of the people crying because it's "too hard", seriously get over it. Everything is this game is optional content, especially if the only reward is a cosmetic change. I mean, you guys cry over every little thing if it's not just handed to you.
