I would have to say the most epic loot I've ever got was when the sun well isle came out, got attuned for the dungeon in heroic and ran it the same day it came out. ran it every single day for weeks. Then the mount Swift White Hawkstrider dropped we all rolled and i rolled 100 on it! i was the first person that i seen riding the Hawksrider epic mount dropped at the last boss heroic MGT I took it everywhere and got PM's all the time about it! asking how i got it and getting congratz on the drop!
Definitely when I got my MH glaive on our first kill of Illidan and then the OH on the second kill. :) After yelling into vent in excitement, I then realized my mic wasn't plugged in.~Driphter
I think my most epic loot would have to be getting Shard of Contempt from Heroic Magisters Terrace. Me and my now ex-guild master were farming it for months, me for SoC and him for the White Chicken(He is a mount collector). Get to the third boss fairly fast, wipe on her twice, then down her. Praying like crazy I nearly jumped out of my seat when it dropped. Onto Kael'Thas, down him 1 shot and wouldn't you know it his mount dropped. Months of hard work rolled into 1 run. Best Run Ever.
Most people's epic drops come about after killing an enemy and taking what it has to give. My most epic drop ever came at the finding of the enemy itself. i was barely level 73, the day or two after WotLK, when I got in mind that I wanted a pet of a different stripe. And so, a paladin friend and I set off to do the impossible: a two-man tame of Gezzarek The Huntress. I had three 'summons' of her, and it was on the third one, after a multitude of tries (and kills of the poor thing) when the combination came together just perfectly, and I managed to tame the elusive black elite Warp Stalker. It was a 'last chance' thing, as well, so it stands out in my memory intensely as 'The most epic drop ever'.
My most epic loot is probably camping for loque, the rare spirit beast. I camped for him since the day I hit level 77 and finally got him few days ago. Total camp time was over a week and a half, but it was definitely worth it. This spirit beast looks so amazing.
My first big 'Epic WOW' would be the Staff of Infinite Mysteries. I got it on my first run in Karazhan, and at the time I was like 'wow cool, you guys sure I can take it' (I was a guest on this run with some friends). When I finished the run I told some friends in another guild that I had went and I got the pretty standard 'oh yeah, did you get anything?'. When I told them I had got the Staff, it was pretty cool to hear that the majority of casters were still after it, and it was a very sought after Staff. Not only that, but it lasted me through the Majority of The Burning Crusade - That was some EPIC Luck :D
I never really considered my self "Lucky" in any sense in my year or so prowling the lands of Azeroth. I am always the member in the party that always rolls low on any rolls. At times it can be quite disparaging when a drop that is just for you occurs and you loose the roll to someone else again or again, or even worse, to ninja looters. Yet, spite my earlier endeavors, I did have what Nyhm has coined "30 seconds moment of epic bliss." On one of my grudging and long days farming Netherwing reputation in the fiery depths of Shadowmoon Valley I was farming Felboar's for fel gland's...like you do. And the Chestguard of the Dark Stalker dropped of a boar. I already had worked tirelessly for a great deal of Season 3 gladiator gear, so it was an unexpected surprise. I figured I would hang onto it and give it to an alt or one of my friends if they needed it. I quickly came down from my short elation and continued on my way. Now, in short: it takes forever to gather these quest items (that or it has something to do with my hideous lack of luck); In long, it takes fooooreveeeer! After a half an hour I am still farming for gland's and when I strike down hopefully the last boar, I am not only rewarded with the final Felgland, but also the Staff of Divine Infusion! This was such a shock to me. Two rare world drops in 30 minutes. It would be an understatement to stay I was not elated. I was overjoyed. Sure, probably others have gotten these items before. I had seen them on the Auction House so many other times. I still felt special, because they at least dropped for me. It was my most epic, luckiest day so far in the World of Warcraft. That is my story.
Hmm... Let's see!My most epic loot is probably my T4 shoulders. I hadn't really done too much end-game so I did not get a lot of epics. It was probably my best epic I had. It was fun times back then. I got them in several of the Gruuls runs I ran. (I think I only ran it like 3 or 4 times!) There was a TON of people. It was a newly formed guild, and we actually got worse the more we tried it. On the second time we did Gruuls, I got this. So many people rolled on it, and I got a 97 and another guildie got a 96! He was really sad/mad (in a greedy way :P) that I had won by 1! I thought that was pretty cool.Anyway, that's my story!
Long before Burning Crusade came out I was obsessed with the creation of Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros. After downing Ragnaros countless times the Eye of Sulfuras dropped! This was back when I was in guild with a master looter and DKP so I was quite nervous since I was not he only member with Sulfuron's Hammer. After distributing the epics the main event took place. Our raid leader just said, "Random roll for it if you have a hammer crafted and ready to upgrade!" There were five of us who wanted it, but only three with the weapon crafted, me being one of them! So, we preceded to roll. First was the other warrior. He rolled a 76. The feeling of excitment over the first legendary drop I'd seen instantly turned to dread. I kept thinking, "I only have a 24% chance to top that roll..." Then the enhancement shaman rolled for it (this was pre-dual wielding). He rolled a 12. I suddenly felt nervous since it was my roll! So, I typed it in.../roll...I rolled an 84! I could feel my hands shaking as I read what the RNG (random number gods) had blessed me with! In the end, I replaced it in Outlands but I still have a special spot for it in my inventory. It shall never be banked.
