WeakAuras are analogous to the Internet. Incredibly useful, incredibly powerful, and used by millions more people than even remotely understand them.Sure, they could provide further context that the video example was already fixed, but that would detract from the overall message of the piece this is a real danger, take it seriously, don't just click on every weak aura a friend or guildie links to you.The API should be pared back significantly, but we all know that the population have become too addicted to the terabytes of mods and addons for that to ever happen.

I get a chuckle whenever I see one of these articles pop up, being someone who's never used WA and probably never will. It's easy to claim that it's a simple matter to never fall prey to one of these exploits and still use the addon, but if history has told me anything it's that WA is essentially an open door letting scammers take advantage of your account. I feel like I'm better off just not using it at all and keeping that door completely closed.
You dont even need WA to get scammed on the AH 90% of everything on there is over priced already. I rarely even touch the AH because all I see are the same people posting items in every category with items listed for 1c and 999g buyout in hopes of scamming some one. I want a built in AH player filter so I can blacklist scammers. One thing I am glade to see that I read was the AH getting changed in TBC so auctions can be listed by buyout which in itself will filter most of those 1c-999g scammers.
Default interface is great - because it's not convenient. You have to calculate things on your own, which makes lots of fun of different gameplay when you're not grinding.
alright only thing that actually matter does this mean weak auras could do something like allow me to purchase the WOD gold challenge gear or is it just it's ability to change what is seen like editing an html page you are on to say what you want?
And this is also why I will never use Weak Auras.
