The less actual lore and plot foreshadowing there is in a book about fairy tales, the better. We have the game and the usual supplemantary materials to drive on the main plot. Fairy tales should feel timeless, and mostly unbothered by their world's realities. So I hope this one is mostly just a bit of harmless world-building that gives us some insight into azerothian cultures, and that the obviously plot-related Vereesa-story, which isn't even presented as a common story, is a one-off here.
So Arthas killed Sylvanas, one part of her soul went into Frostmourne, meaning into the Jailer's grasp, and the second part of her soul went to Ardenweald, only to be pulled back into the world of the living and turned into the Banshee aka the Sylvanas we know?Feel free to correct me.
Why does this article consistently reference Vereesa's name as "Vareesa"?
Wasnt the fairy tales book already stated to be none-canon?
Awesome article. Buying the book from amazon right now!
Great article! There is some really juicy lore here, even tough it's a bit weird having it inside a book of fairy tales. Anyway, i guess such a story like this specific one won't be just meaningless, so it's fair to assume we could see another sister to sister talk at some point during the expansion, specially considering these facts:1. It doesn't seem we are killing sylvanas in her raid encounter, so her story will continue. Without any huge buffs and with a mechanic that seems to limit our time to take her down in the last phase, it seems impossible to drop her from 70-80% to 0 health.2. If we have to believe anduin, there's still a trace of sylvanas' mortal life hunting her. After watching her violent reaction to these words, we can assume he's right about this.3. Sylvanas' love for vereesa is so strong it can even eclipse her darkest side, as we could watch in the three sisters comic, where she spared her and alleria after she heard vereesa apologising for not wanting to share her life as an undead, a glimer that lasted for just one moment, until they left.At this point, it seems the banshee queen title fits her in the most literal of all aspects. Blizzard has turned her story into the most tragical in the game i'd say (if it wasn't before).
