I think the most "epic drop" I've ever gotten was actually getting my epic flight form on my druid. After quite a bit of farming for the 5k gold ( and this was pre WotLK), and hours of going around doing the different quests I had to do, I finally ended up in heroic Sethekk Halls. After having killed Anzu, which was a pretty cool fight, I could NOT wait to get outside and start flying. It felt so great to be zooming around on a pretty unique bird, considering only druids can get it. That was a great day. =)
My most epic loot ever has got to be the Bloodthirst Breastplate. Yeah, its a great ring, but I'm a HUGE lore buff and seeing as I play a rogue, Garona is somewhat of a hero to me. If you didn't know, Bloodthirst Breastplate is the same chestpiece that Garona wore, before she disappeared. It is a quest item from LONG before Naxx Pre-BC even came out and I JUST got it the day before Wrath came out. It was so great to finally have her chestpiece and it was somewhat of a status symbol to me; after all, not many people have it. While I do not play an Orc rogue, my rogue is named Garrona on the Malfurion server. I still carry Garona's Signet Ring and Garona: A Study on Stealth and Treachery in my bags at all times, just so that I've always got her with me.Weird I know, but Garona is awesome and I can't wait until Blizz puts her back in the game.
My first epic I got was on my druid, in the very very first months of WoW, before Molten Core was existing (or just when it got out). This epic item was a Warden Staff. I was Feral spec, when the only viable spec was resto. I was the best tank on my server, and I had to fight all the close-minded players thinking the only tanks were warriors. It was looking crap, but it was the best weapon a tanking druid could dream to get. Considering it was a world drop, it was costing a TONS of gold. I was so proud of it. Kinda make me miss vanilla wow...I still have it in my bank :)Anyway, I cant win because I live in Canada, but I had to share it :)
I must say that the most epic piece of loot I received was my blue lvl 70 pvp shoulders. I had just started healing, and needed some good shoulders. I'm a RPer by nature, so I usually half-picked gear based on looks, and those shoulders look awesome for a dwarf paladin. So I grinded honor like crazy, then stayed up till about 4 in the morning waiting for the honor to update. I got my shoulders on monday morning. That tuesday, they were replaced by the season 1 gear.Stat-wise, I lost, but I still have those shoulders, and it's pretty cool to have a discontinued item in my bank if you ask me.
when i finally won that AV match for the three marks that i need for the gear that i wanted, after being destroyed 13 times :(
Most epic thing to happen to me was during BC when we got bored and wanted to visit C'thun. We took 40 inexperience players of AQ40 and we stood near the first doorway to C'thun's chamber when I go on vent "I wonder if I can move pass this doorway to the other side". *dead* Eye of C'thun hits you for 4124599. Here I thought Archimonde's Finger of doom was bad. However that was my most epic encounter not only because of the wiping the raid with my curiosity but downing him was really fun.
The most epic loot I've ever gotten was the Beaststalker's Cap from Scholo. I spent weeks going to Scholo every single day, and finally seeing it drop was the best feeling in the world. Plus it looked really awesome too!
The most epic loot ive probally everrr gotten was when i got my Grimgrin Faceguard. As we were fighting Zul'jin half the raid began to wipe when Zul'jin got to his Dragon Hawk face.(Some people are so stupid standing in front of the Flame Breath :T) But when he got to 3 percent and the healers OOMed our tank began to die and as he was dieing the tank and zul'jin began to lose health at the same time and they ended up dieing at same time. In the end when loot was distributed I was so happy my Grimgrin Faceguard dropped but saw that the other rogue rolled a 87 i think and when I rolled I rolled a 95 and I @#$% my pants in happiness. This was my most epic loot drop I ever got.
When I first got into raiding, my guild decided to run with me in Kara. First time raiding for me and it was quite a nice experience. After the night of running through the halls of Kara, my guild decided to do Gruul's Lair. I didn't think I was ready to be part of the guild's bigger runs yet, but they said to come along. So, we go through, nothing major really. Got our T4 tokens, none were the Vanquisher token, so I didn't get anything from the fight against Maulgar. Feeling a little down from it, but still eager to keep pushing forward. So, we get Gruul. He beat us down two times before we could finally stop him. As he fell to the ground, we took a moment to breath and get our fallen friends back onto their feet. Checking what he dropped after everyone was back on their feet, I saw that Dragonspine Trophy had been one of the items. I had spent quite a bit of time on the Rogue board, hearing all about it. Luckily, no one else wanted it at the time and I received it. My first Gruul run, and I got one of the most sought after item for a rogue, at least at the time.To me, that's one of the best items I've gained. New to raiding, first time there.
It wasn't really MY loot but the fight was EPIC all the same. Just got done doing Heigen the Unclean on heroic, and the fight took over a half hour because 6 people ended up not dying and he doesn't enrage so we killed him with 2 healers 1 tank and 3 DPS. Our raid leader said "1,2,3,4" so many times we're all going to have nightmares of him saying it over and over and over. And my buddy who's a Druid Tank got The Undeath Carrier off him which is pretty damn epic.
My most Epic experience was when I decided to change from Prot to Fury permanently. I was very skeptic at first having been a tank since lv36(I know lv36 because that was the last time I had used a 2H Mace which was the blue mace from the lv30 Warrior quest and my skill was still 180) and I was worried about what I'd be losing. After grabbing two swords off the Quartermaster in Quel'Danas and having allready acquired some DPS gear from the AH(I hate PvP) i went to test out how tough I was by taking my anger/curiosity out on the local Blood Elves. Surely enough my prayers were answered when I accidentally aggroed 6 Dawnblade Blood Knights and MUCH to my surprise I was able to defeat all 6 without any heals being done to myself and while they were all healing each other. That right there, to me, was a sign that I was meant to be a DPS Warrior and as soon as Titan's Grip came out I instantly sold ALL my Tanking gear.
Im still very young to world of warcraft(heck, im not even at the point of the game to take advantage of neither expansions that have been released. My most epic loot so far has been the "big Bad pauldrons" form zul' farrack. i was so happy to pick them up because it was my first instance id ever been to with a group.
