I don't understand why this was bannable and not the Temple of Sethraliss exploit. Not saying this didn't deserve a ban, both exploits did. I just want to know the devs reasoning to neither mention nor ban the ToS exploit.
Got 2 days ban, leveling from 20-30 something. I got tears in my eyes, the leveling reminded me of the amazing time I had leveling in WOD, with exp potions and RAF.But Blizzard, it's weekend ffs need to play.Btw, does this have something to do with welcome back weekend? lol
Got to keep the sales of the level boost in the cash shop up somehow I guess.
its not enough we pay for your game evry month and you ban people for developers mistake of you can't have a fixed game cause developers are too ocupated to add new green items in the xmog room hahhaha =)))instead of checking the erros of games
Developers don't do QA afaik. It's complete different department than "green items in the xmog room"(?)Rapzilla your point is correct that players that report it are the good ones here and Blizzard the profiting party because they save money on QA. They don't shove it down the players throat. They rightfully punish those that violated tos. They own, what is asume here? the bug by fixing it.
I got hit by the 2 day ban as well... feels bad. As far as all the people saying well deserved and what not i dont think you truly understand how the glitched worked. It was at max a 300% exp gain for 1 hour. Most people didnt have enough medals to even pull off the 300% for their first hour and even less could do it for a 2nd hour.... Now then 300% exp boosts were in the game legit at 1 point via recruit a friend which i use to do quite often but thats not gone. The old exp potions from MoP / Garrison are now gone / so few left and in circulation that they are essentially a dead exp gain. But again this was literally 1 hour of extra exp gain and maybe a few extra levels? I think i netted maybe a extra 5-7 levels in that 1 hour. I know some got way more but again doesnt really matter? I mean 1 thing with exploits is will this be bannable or we more people just a leg up over me and blizz just gonna patch this and let them go. If blizz was more consistent with their policy and actually held everyone accountable all the time instead of it seeming like a flip of a coin if a exploit is going to be bannable or is it something they may just let go then i think more people wouldnt be worried with them and worried about losing a possible advantage. End of the day id rather see players leveling with crazy exp gains then insta 110ing via a $60 boost. It allows more interactions and people to level with and around. It also helps a lot of them learn their class on the way up and provides a more interesting and fun leveling process.
what an actual joke.
I especially find all the "REEEEE THEY DESERVE TO BE BANNED" comments amusing. This is an extremely minor thing in the overall scope of the game, a suspension of more than a day is ridiculous. Remember, they weren't duping items, they weren't ruining other people's experience, they weren't botting, etc, etc. Literally the worst they did was gain some levels on a character a bit quicker. Oh the humanity! The only reason Blizz is dishing out punishment is because people bypassed their absurdly expensive character boost service and they see it as lost profit.I don't blame a single person who used this exploit because holy hell the leveling in this game is tedious and painful, it could be used as a form of torture. When I think of games I want to replay, leveling a character from 1 to 120 in WoW ain't it.
i personally dont agree with this ban wave at all. even though i wasnt banned (check link at end of post for proof) some people might have dont this unknowingly, and could have been banned for something that they didnt know was an exploit. just give out warnings for first time offenders, and small bans, increasing in time with every offense https://imgur.com/a/Y0KyJts
All over reddit there were people actively saying that Blizz wouldn't issue any temp bans because too many people had done it... and I was just thinking the day would come when going near any exploit in a repeated and purposeful manner will see a punishment.People never learn.
How is this an exploit over other people not using such methods, when everyone could've gone and bought a bunch of these just to drink 'em up?I'm well aware this rant here won't cancel the suspensions. What I'm trying to say is (yeah, I'm looking at you, people who didn't exploit), you could've bought that too, so it's not really inaccessible to you. Neither is it a third party software, neither is it modding the gamefiles in any way. This was sheer, pure mistake made by Blizzard which we, the keen-eyed playerbase noticed before Blizzard themselves could (oh wait, maybe if they had 800 people to spare, they'd be able to notice problems faster). In the end of the day, suspensions were handed out - there's not much more to it. Yeah, we all wanted to save ourselves 2-3 days worth of constant grinding some outdated content you don't really care about - and yeah, that is entirely fine. But what Activision-"Blizzard" is attempting here is to follow old "successful" patterns. They don't know why they banned you. They just heard about a loophole in their own game's code and decided to dispense blind justice just because Blizzard did it in the past. Ideally, Kotick may just be trying to add some more cash to the pile, for all we know.Anyway, back on topic. Why should we -not- be punished instead? Maybe because we're not comfortable spending a week on a character just to get 8 items for cosmetic purposes. Maybe because we have lives too, and would like to be like our boy Bobby, to not give a single damn and only care about money? "We will take fun and we'll rip it out of Blizzard products", he said back in 2010. And you see it right here. Right now:You do keys once a week to get your item. You kill a boss once a week in hopes of a titanforged socketed drop. You clear a raid once a week and hope to get item with stats that you actually need. It's all hope. It's all randomness and that doesn't favor the player at all. There's your fun gone. All they really care about is for you to remain subbed. Rest is just a bonus.Thank you for your time.
LOL at the people defending the other players. Yeah its a big game, &*!@ can happen, but you are actually violating the rules of the game. If you have at least a little bit of common sense you should know not to do that and that you would be banned
