I wouldnt call that an exploit. Item does not state whether it stacks with itself or not. So I dont think people should be punished for it. If you could use it multiple times and it was showing only those 10% bonus once then what? Are you supposed to make spreadsheets of every exp gain and after each wow session check if everything seems ok? Or that every attack did expected damage and you didnt stumble upon a bug they could ban you for? That is not a game then. That is unpayed QA job.
Christ on a cracker! just get heirloom gear! im getting 50% bonus xp and I think theres still 2 or 3 pieces I don't have yet! then take a 10% potion 10%, ride the merry go round 10% and perhaps theres more I just don't know about. And, didn't Blizzard just reduce the amount of experience needed for each level about a month ago?
The wrong part here isn’t on the players but blizzard! Blizzards problem with this exploit is they missed out on cash from players for character boosts. Shame on you blizzard. Nothing wrong with anything these people did but you punish them because of your own butt hurt! They pay to play the game you developed glitches and all! More and more I move away from WOW!
Don't get me wrong, I agree with the ban hammer:) But...my question is - what if someone (let's say a new/inexperienced player who has no idea how these mechanics work) by accident consumes two of these and finds out that they stack..? Then he goes on and chugs some more... There no way to find out that you are doing something wrong and using it that way is not how it's intended to work.Right?
I wonder if people that used the cauldron bug to crash the economy on potions/flasks for a few days will se any punishment, or if we are only punishing things that are considered "fun".
Boo hoo, leveling is so hard that we need to exploit and then throw a tantrum when we get TEMP banned. Boo hoo.If it's that torturous maybe you're just not cut out for an alt army and should stick with your main.
game as a servicepeople power through something that they could also spend money on? ban themI have to give it to acti bliz. It shows balls to pull something like this when the downward trend of the post xpac launch is in full effect. Especially during a promotional weekend
Lol... another “bug,” and yet another wave of bans for exploits. I find it exceedingly hard to believe that not one of the countless testers in the caves and basements at BLIZZ didn’t know about this. These seemingly random “bugs” are not bugs at all, but simply Blizz testing the player base. If it were a true “bug,” it would most likely take a couple of days to recode, test and hotfix. Yet somehow bilzz is able to hotfix these bugs within hours? It’s been about six months or so since the last exploitable “bug,” and they happen to regularly for them to be anything else but intentional. Now also I have no proof, and this is purely my opinion, but it is what it is. Don’t want to be banned? Then don’t violate the user agreements. Yes I’d be nice if there weren’t hundreds of herb and ore bots on every server, and yes I’d be nice if I didn’t have to report Chinese gold sellers at least once an hour, but for some reason blizz chooses to test the actual player base than focus on things that make the game more enjoyable.
"You will level OUR way and you will like it!"Sigh, thankfully I guessed this would happen before hand and didn't take advantage of the bug.
Here is my view on this. The Ban is well deserved for those who exploited. I leveled my Zandalari Pally from 20 to 102 normally, and I did notice people on my realm getting a level every time they turned in a quest at 1-60 zones. I don't care what anyone says. That's unfair to someone who is playing the game how it should be played, and I believe the people who did get banned for this, should have their toon rerolled back to what it originally was. You can't sit here and blame blizzard for your ban. You exploited, you are paying the price. Don't blame the Character Services, or say that Blizz only did this because they want money, They did it because this was a exploit of a bug. There is a saying for this. "What goes around, Comes around." and You paid the price of cheating. With that being said... I feel like many of the people who used the exploit, only did it because of how painful the leveling is right now in the game. I have done every zone on both Alliance and horde and I really wish some of the questing areas, atleast from 1-60 were revamped and had a updated story. but that doesn't mean I am saying this is blizzards fault. Bug happen, they clearly didn't know. But again.. I wish leveling was a lot faster, specially around the 85-90 area. I also wish they had redone the zones this expac.
Ill admit. I exploited this to give myself about 15 stacks of the potion when I levelled my kul tiran to punch through about 10 levels(66-76 or something). Was fixed right after that. However, I feel a bit "cheated" due to speaking to a gm on the same day where I admitted this and they said that there was nothing wrong with it. I'll accept the punishment regardless, but I just wanted to make a point of the gm giving a false sense of security.
Everyone knew it was uninteded, but we just hoped to get away with it. It is that simple.Probably should praise blizzard for being firm on this.
so stupid they shuold bug test these internally if ptr is not enough
