Never heard of it, and yes ban is deserved as everyone knew it was an exploit. That said I can perfectly understand that people would want to bypass the awfully boring and long levelling if at least they wouldn't tide it to the heritage armors ...
Don't let these bans distract you from the fact that <Essence> exploited for US 18 Mythic Jaina kill, and still didn't get banned.
The thing for me is not even whether it's "wrong" or not to use an exploit like this. It's the simple fact that such exploits have been caught in the past and those that abused it punished. It's like seeing your brother touch a stove and get burnt then you trying it because "maybe it won't get me".
Have a nice vacation cheaters. Hope you come back to deleted characters
ya know...i've seen quite a few situations where, due to a simple clerical error, something was listed as being far cheaper or easier to acquire than intended.i've seen people walk out of stores with trolleys full of stuff and only paid a few dollars because they used coupons, double-coupon days, and buy-one-get-one sales.i've seen people walk out of banks with $120 microwaves on Monday and then close their account on Tuesday.and how many of those people got fined, arrested, or punished for taking advantage of the situation?ZERO.in every case, the guy who made the error was the one who got punished.and yet here in videogameland, the opposite is happening. the guy who made the oopsie resulting in the customers' "abuse" of the situation gets a pat on the back while the customers get punished for doing what the real world tells them is acceptable.and gods forbid anyone should point out the disparity in the application of logic.TL;DR: society is hypocritical; it's just a damned game; get over yourselves.

Banned two days. Used more than 80 pots and power leveled my Zanda druid to 110 for its heritage armor. Would do it again. If they REALLY wanted to deter exploits, a harsh punishment would actually make people like myself reconsider it next time. Given how light this punishment is, the mantra of "exploit early, exploit often" seems to be intact. It's just a matter of risk-reward assessment next time, and in this case, it was totally worth it.
Blizzard employees better follow the guy who posts exploits like this on youtube and for a price, and do the fixes in timely manner (fast as light)
