They need to lower the amount of ranks. it's like the poop version of conquest gear, which is atleast upgradable via spamming bgs for farmable honor instead of 12 ranks to upgrade that require the same timegated currency to upgrade.
Capping at 220 is a joke. Having a dozen ranks asking for a weekly cap to upgrade an item for 3 ilvls is a joke.The entire system in it's current state would at best be used only by the most casual casuals this season who haven't done a 15 after months playing, and only allow for a few targeted upgrades during the normal progression to KSM in the next seasons.
it's sooooo bad.stop with the spammable dungeon loot in m+. you can't balance a system without a cap like m+ so the solution is really bad drop rate or useless item.just give currency like justice and valor at the end of the key and add vendors similar to the pvp system. it's already there and it works great but let's build a new system that noone is happy with. let me run my dungeon without the possibility to drop 35 anima. give me currency so i can plan my upgrade and let me upgrade the item to 226 with weapon 233 with a new achi for all 20+.

The idea behind that system is promising, but once again blizzard kinda messes up the execution.The motivation behind M+ valor points should not be to smooth out the gearing process, but to have a viable gearing curve in the first place. One, that doesnt force you to a) rely on the weekly chest b) the mythic raid and c) pvp sooner or later. And like many people already said, the achievement/reward ratio is kinda off. Timing each dungeon at +10 is way harder compared to clearing the first 8 bosses on hc, and working towards KSM pretty much matches mythic progression difficulty on said bosses. So imho, the curve should be sth like that:+5 on all dungeons -> 207 (thats fine as it is)+7 on all dungeons -> 213 (fair reward for playing with the third affix)+10 on all dungeons -> 220(fair reward for playing with the 4th affix)+15 on all dungeons -> 226(as i said, just as hard as duelist/mythic progression)+20 on all dungeons -> 233 weapons/offhands (timing a +20 is something which >95% of the playerbase wont be able to, just like gladiator rank in pvp or cutting edge in raid)Furthermore, dont cap the amount of collectable valor points, thats pointless. Ah and finally to the comments: Stop lying to yourself bc you were unlucky or some random discord nobodies told you so. IQD aint a simtrap, its by far the BiS trinket for every class which has strong bursty cooldowns and can align them properly. Just watch what the 99 parsers or peak rio players of your class use and stick to it.
I am currently pushing 20 keys and i have 4 items at 210. This change is actually huge for me.
This just further reinforces the fact that the ilvl rewards from mythic dungeon weekly cheat are to high. Also depending on how grindy this is players are just gonna complain again.I thought this was a great idea at first but its fairly clear this does not fix the fundamental issue that dungeons are a better way to gear then raiding is unless you run mythic raids.
Give Blizzard a good acceptable idea that everybody likes and GUARANTEE they'll screw it up on final development and implement it in the worst way possible GG Ion

whole valor system created to fail. we got rid of valor back then for reasons now forgotten. why not turn up drop% like in BfA. loot is not a bad thing
This is horrible with all the restrictions and caps all over the place:- make gear obtained before 9.0.5 upgradeable- remove 1500 total cap you can hold at time- change upgrade costs, upgrading low ilvl item should cost much less than upgrading high ilvl item- change requirements for upgrades: +10 timed 220 upgrades, +15 timed 226 upgrades, +20 timed 233 upgrades for weapons
They implemented a valor system that we are begging from the beginning that will be useful only to gear our alts. XD
Really nice feature, is way better farming for a currency rather than a chance to proc +5 ilvl or a socket like in BFA
400 valor for 3 item level on a trinket. Are they crazy?
