These need some serious testing and tuning.How about letting MORE people in to test.

I was excited to be able to do solo content as a healer, but I guess these soft timers on clearing floors will make that a lot less possible.

Feel like they initially said they want players to take their time in Torghast, to explore and really embrace the tower. Now it seems they're going back on that statement, trying to rush players through at later levels?
I was excited for Torghast. Now I think I might skip the expansion altogether. This will be fairly mandatory given this is how you get legendaries, and now Blizzard is turning it into yet another speed run after Mythic+, Island Expeditions, and Visions. Why do we need this level of stress? Let people spend 48 hours straight in this thing if they want to. What happened to exploration and discovery instead of rush rush rush?
It is actually bad... Blizzard keeps forgetting the game is supposed to be fun and now it will make us feel the breath of pressure on our backs and it doesn't matter if it's a soft timer or hard

it won't be a speedrun as some people are saying, sure it's alpha, but the post does say that we will have safe zones at the beginning of each floor where nothing will happen, no soft timer, nothing, where you'll be able to afk etc.And you can also just afk once you've cleared a floor, since the debuffs won't affect anything since nothing needs killing, you can just wait and take the portal when you're ready to go on.
Fundamentally a good idea, but absolutely need tuning. People will sit to wait for CDs if it means they can push as far as possible. That's degenerate as hell. Also I think the timer should only count when you're not in combat. Feels like they going to make Torghast harder for specs that already struggle with it.
Lol at people already coming to conclusions based on this post. You dont even know how often you will get these debuffs or after how long. Waiting for bloodlust before every pack is not fun either, so there must be some measure, but Im certain this does not mean you have to speedrun each floor like you do in visions. Its called soft timer for a reason, not straight up countdown like m+ or visions.
So let me get this straight the higher your item level/better geared you are the farther you can go? Which means people rolling through high keys and mythic raiding will have a serious advantage in there vs everyone else. It's not like THEY need the gear in the first place... who is even designing this content? Don't even get me started on the poor class balancing which we know for sure will be a thing. I can already picture demon hunters facerolling that place.
I think its best we compare Torghast more to modes that are more similar to it and not look at everything through a limited scope of what we've experienced with past experiences in WoW. I think the best example of this type of content is Risk of Rain 2. That game also has a soft timer where the current diffulculty is a function of the floor AND time. However, RoR2 also has its good bit of exploring, its not just a mad rush. I think the introduction of a timer is overall healthier for the gamemode and can add some needed incentive to keep moving, but not feel pressured to rush
So it's crap now. It's not possible for them to balance it, that's what the alpha is showing. This makes it worse, but I guess they just figured out how many people would be in that instance server if it were no timer. $$Is there any other content in SL that's new outside if this tower?
This is alpha, if people don't like it then it'll get scrapped. This isn't the Beta phase where it's too late to do anything about it and we have a long time until the release date. So don't jump to conclusions all because of this one change. Honestly, we don't know why they put stuff like this in. Maybe to incentivize people to group up more in Torghast especially for clothies (who are struggling in this alpha so far especially Shadow Priests), but that isn't a good incentive. A good incentive would be like 5% increase in phantasm for each person you have in your party.
