I started in BC and I have been in the same guild since, we raid, have a laugh and therefore, we have become great friends. We give each other rare items and expect nothing in return, we just do it because we are friends.
My guild leader and I went from being sorta enemies to nearly best friends. we speak every day for hours and are gunna meet up soon at a local convention. He lives in holland and myself in london so its pretty awesome!
ive talked to friends on wow on skype but never met in real life but some of my real life friends play wow but meeting somone in real life through wow sounds really interesting.
While we didn't meet in-game, I got to know my then-boyfriend and now-husband while we played WoW. We lived in different cities and didn't get much face time, but the gaming gave us ways to learn about each other. We made a deal: I would level a WoW character to max level and he would take ballroom dance classes with me. He's a great dancer and I just leveled my 8th 90. Thanks, WoW!
When i first started playing wow 6 years ago, i joined a really friendly guild and we all meshed really well with each other, raiding and farming together. The GM and their partner flew down from another state for our first guild meet up, and stayed with us for a couple of days. They no longer play, but we still keep in touch and catch up every couple of years!
My gm from wrath and I became really great friends if he didn't live so far away we would hang out for sure. however he lives in PR and i live in the US so...Good luck on the contest everyone!
As quite a youngster I started playing, and after a few detours I finally ended up in the guild I was destined to be in for years to come. The core from said guild, who would sometimes part with the guild tag for greater raid adventures, would always return, and outside wow it's still a closely knit group.
Been playing this game for about 5 years now, met tons of amazing people and about a handful of them i would consider really good friends, we even plan on hanging out or visiting each other really soon. One of my friends we've been friend for 5 years. couple years later we had a long distance relationship, so been together for 3 years. relationship got serious and we decided to get married! now married for almost a year. :)
sounds good.
Sign me up, Scotty!
4 years ago I met my dutch friend during Lunar Festival. I was sitting in the water watching how to kill Omen when she came along and slaughtered him and showed me that I could complete the quest by standing in the light. We soon started to talk daily and would play online together whenever we could. We became friends due to the both of us having anxiety issues and other health problems, we would learn and cope together. Last September I flew out to see her for the first time on her birthday. Understandably we were both very nervous but we quickly overcame it and it became one of the best holidays I've ever had. We plan on another meet up again and both of us are greatly looking forward to it. :) This is a friendship I believe will last a great many years and we have WoW to thank for it!
I wouldn't want to meet online friends on a TV show but I do want to enter the contest.
So, one day, many moons ago (figure 6 years) I was questing in the wonderfully cheery zone known as Desolace. I happened to be haphazardly killing some mobs around a pile of giant bones. When suddenly a hunters pet, named Spoon, starts attacking my target. Being the outgoing and social butterfly I am, I asked the Hunter, Kaytee, if they would like to quest with me. They replied yes, and so a relationship was born that has lasted through 3 guilds together, 2 factions, a few realms and some breaks from the game. Although we haven't met IRL, we have come to know each other very well and chat on the phone and through e-mails. Someday we will meet up and hang out, until then, we will slay the enemies of Azeroth together!
Once during WotLK I was leveling a few of my first toons. I was doing RDFs on a mage - that ended up never getting past lvl 30ish - and got Shadowfang Keep. Somehow the healer, a female undead priest, managed to get aggro from the ghost guards patrolling the walls just after exiting the door to the courtyard on the beggining, which led to a huge pull and an epic wipe.Luckily the group was very friendly and I joked how the priest's cleavage "top view" must have been really amazing for the guards to aggro from all the way up there. Our humor just hit off; we added each other and started leveling together. Along the way we met a bunch more nice people who joined our leveling and we ended up creating a guild which eventually killed The Lich King.During that time we built a great friendship and although she doesn't play since Cata came out we still keep in touch and I may yet become her work partner soon :)
I met one of my best friends on WoW about four years ago. It was in Gnomeregan. Our group left and we were the only ones left and happened to be on the same realm too. We stuck with each other and did a couple more dungeons afterwards. It was actually pretty enjoyable. I'd love to meet him in person but uh... maybe not on a show with all those cameras everywhere :o
I met one of my best friends through WoW. I met him back in BC in Karazhan, he was the main tank for a guild I was applying for. The group was really nice, and he was an excellent lead. We later met at Blizzcon and we've hung out ever since. It's nice to be able to play a game with such a diverse population and be able to meet people around you who are very awesome people.
My absolute closest friend is someone I met on WoW while trying to start up a guild. I was recruiting and she was my first sign-up, we chatted and RPed together and got the guild up and running. That was five years ago. The guild's come and gone, just about all the original members have left by now, but the two of us have stuck around, and have kept in contact both on and off the game. Practically my little sister and the best friend I've ever had. Best thing that guild, and WoW, has ever done for me.
My closest friend I've met when I was leveling, I was an old-school player, and he was some kind of a noob on the game, but I teached him almost everything I could.
I met one of my best friends in WoW back during Vanilla. An old workmate/friend was pursuing a girl in-game with an almost single-mindedness that he offered her our guild in a merger to get closer to her. He kind of faded out of the game a bit and I wound up as the sole survivor of that ill-fated merger. We grouped, did dungeons and all that stuff. Went romantic for a bit but that didn't work out. We stayed friends and I've helped her through emotional issues in the past. Still a very good friend who I'm always happy to hear from.
Well, I dont have a lot of friends playing WoW, but I got some friends that I still talk to from time to time in WoW.
