I've met a good bunch of people during nine years in WoW and luckily also met most of them IRL. Nowadays the number of people playing who I personally know is lower it's ever been. Interesting to see if WoD will rekindle any interest in them.
I run a guild on Kul-Tiras. We have at least 50 members in the guild and they are all RL friends. Everyone has at least met each other in real life and become friends in the game.
A good friend of mine on WoW was up all night one time, farming the Disgusting Oozeling. After four hours, he succeeded and mailed it to me just in time for my birthday!
I don't have friends.
I'd love to meet my guildies, there's only a handful of us left since vanilla but it would be great. Don't think i'd be applying though, way too shy.
Unfortunately, they no longer play, but there was a husband/wife team in an old guild I and my fiance used to be in. We'd often do 5- and 10-mans together, old content, etc. It was kind of like we had couple friends in the game.
About 6 years ago I met one of my best friends. We met in the draenei starting area and I was asking for help with a quest. She replied and from that day we hit it off. I quit wow for around a year and when I came back I received a whisper from her saying 'SAM?' And since then we talk every day and this past year when I was moving cross country I stayed at her house for a night. It was wonderful she is one of the best friends I have. I've also made a lot of friends through wow and I have made friendships due to wow. Anyways, I've already met quite a few friends from wow and I even live near a few that I've met. I hope that more people get to meet their wow friends :) happy hunting!
i met my girl on WoW now we live together
I've met several people playing WoW a few of them have become some close friends and we've had some great times playing. I've only met one in person but wouldn't be opposed to meeting some of the others.
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
I have been friends with some of my guildies off line for years even though they don't play wow anymore.
I know my mage friend because we at the time we roughly knew each other in the same guild that I joined after I switched to Horde. He at the time he was one of the first people on our realm to have Dragonwrath so naturally most of the guild was around him so naturally I was with them as well. Sometime after most of the guild left for another realm and I didn't see him at all for months so I assumed that he left with them. Naturally I was ecstatic to seem him appear back on our realm, albeit guildless, since I found out he was on duty at time and wasn't a part of the guild move. As fate would have it, I ended up joining the same guild and the same raid group as him so we ended up talking a lot more and becoming good friends. We haven't met offline but I did find out we are actually pretty close.
I met one of my great friends one year. It was awesome to meet them in person. Someone you spent years playing with in a game. We had a lot in common. He was my first WoW friend from when I started playing 7 years ago. :)
I've always wanted to email Nev and tell him that true love can happen online! Cause he really seems to be a hopeless romantic that wants it to be true. I met my fiance after playing WoW with him and talking on vent almost every night after 3 years. Sometime after I turned 21 the dynamic of our relationship kind of changed for me when I realized coming home to talk to him was a big highlight to my day. He came out to visit me the spring of 2011. I went out to see him a few months later. (We lived 1500 miles away from each other.) We now have an almost year and a half old daughter, and we are now engaged. After 3 years of gaming and now almost 3 years of living together, I can say sometimes there is a happily ever after that starts in Azeroth. =D
I think having a chance to meet some of my WoW friends IRL wold be amazing. I've got people from 1 coast to the other that I would love to meet. However, I think the best friendship that started in WoW is with my friend Chad. We started playing together back in early LK and have kept in touch since then. We still talk via battletag and on vent on a regular basis.
One of my best friends I've ever had. Her name's Shelb, we met back in the day when we were both broke and we were still playin the unofficial servers; later I joined her guild on Burning Blade eu and raided with them for a little bit.Been really good friends forever, she helped me alot.Known her for some 5 years now. Still love her x
Well, I joined a random guild about 4 years ago, because they seemed like they could use my help in learning the game, and I saw in the potential to become my raiding guild. And they did. I helped them all learn their way around the game and we began raiding Icecrown Citadel together, finishing it in the end, with the greatest band of misfits ever. It was great, and we became great friends. Most of them don't play anymore, but one in particular, was from the same country I'm from, and he is still playing, and is now a member of the guild I founded after. So now I have a really great friend who is like a brother to me. WoW really does bring people together :)
I met someone in Warcraft who has brought so many interesting people to play with us. He's been a pretty awesome friend and has helped myself and my guilds through the years and I hope he continues to play just as he has been.
I'm trying to meet with my girlfriend from skype for quite a long time now :) Although she lives on the other half of our lovely planet Earth, we still gonna go together for holidays :) Actually, we're in a relationship, even tho she doesn't play WoW anymore. We are now together for a year and 3 months, and I just can't wait to see her again. We've met by my friend who I met in WoW , and he introduced her to me. And so, I persuaded her to play WoW :) WoW gave me her, and in Christmas Time in 2014, she comes to stay in UK with me :)
