no, personal loot was the most signifant simplifier for default raid groups. Forcing group loot is taking several steps back to having flexible raid sizes and compositions in non mythic groups. Why should enabling gear funneling with group loot be a bonus for the average player? It only pushes boosting and item buying to new levels.Oh now i understand blizzards move. but it is not a bonus for most people.
It's good they're thinking of making raiding more rewarding, because m+ has been killing it the past few years with how much more efficient it is to get gear.
Could be an interesting experiment but I think 3 ilvl brackets would be better. So for example bosses 1-3 would be the first bracket, 4-6 second and 7-8 third. Usually 2nd and 3rd boss aren't that much harder than first boss so it feels weird to have an ilvl jump on them.
Frankly, I don't like it. Giving the last bosses an ilvl bump already causes issues when it comes to weapons and trinkets, and this just exacerbates the problem (especially if your class needs 2 weapons). Also toss Group Loot back into the garbage where it belongs.
so guilds that don't clear full M+ will never see max ilvl gear?
Full-time Mythic raiders get stacked everyone else is trash nice cool yeah good content. I keep forgetting blizzard doesn't care about anyone except their WFR teams... this is absolutely terrible. -1If you like this then you're one of the <1% (literally) who always full clear mythic raids...or you just don't play the game idk this is ridiculous.*PRAYING* this is another slapped-together BETA system that they didn't get to finish yet.
Ppl still raid?
Fairly sure they already said mythic plus loot in the vault and from dungeons is not going to be the equivalent of mythic raid loot anymore.
Personal loot removes a lot of loot drama. With group loot, what is to stop someone rolling need on items they don’t need? Now if you’re in a guild you can regulate this somewhat, but if you are raiding with strangers (especially on normal/heroic) this could be a disaster. Need loot you don’t need but can equip, just to pass to your mates? Second, while I like the fact that loot in raids gets better the deeper you go into the raid, it also causes concern that the items at the start of the raid, especially weapons and trinkets, will be pretty useless.Raid items need to become upgradeable. If the item drops from the 1st boss, there should be a guaranteed currency that you can save up to boost that item to highest level that raid difficulty offers. Unlocked once you kill the later bosses, just like how M+ requires high rating to unlock the higher unlocks.
The biggest issue I see here is that for a system like this to work Blizzard needs to increase the amount of total loot that drops. It seems like Blizzard's intention is that players are constantly getting new gear to upgrade/replace their existing gear (which is how most RPGs work). But that's just not how the current loot drop system functions. At present players basically aim for a specific item in each slot, and then once they get that item the only upgrade for their character is a higher ilvl version of that same item. Conversely, if Blizzard wants players to get one trinket off the 1st boss, then replace it with a different better one off the 4th boss, and then finally replace it again with a different better one off the 6th boss, (which again is how most RPGs work) players simply don't get enough loot drops to do that for every gear slot (or even half of them) over the course of a single raid difficulty. So while I like the new system in theory, I feel like Blizzard will have to drastically change their outlook on how much loot players get from killing each boss to make it flow smoothly. Basically the goal would need to be something more like having players upgrade (i.e. replace) 1/4 - 1/3 of their gear after having killed 3 bosses for 2 - 3 weeks, which the current rate of loot acquisition doesn't support.
No thanks. Just leave raid loot how it is.
With how stingy blizzard is with loot already this seems like it will be a huge pita to get gear.
Pretty sure they still want most people to use personal loot and group loot would be an exception not the rule - Otherwise we have to deal with raid items dropping for classes that aren't even there, ie: hunter bows/guns without any hunters.
