This is a very bad change that will only encourage more toxicity.
Alchemy is a dead profession for public orders. Why aren't we allowed to make public potions and phials?I haven't seen any orders on it for months outside of people wanting to pay 100g to have people craft the cauldrons which is a 600k+ gold recipe.
It would be nice if it were possible to have a list of favorite crafters that the work order UI could keep a memory of, making it easier to reissue crafts back to the same people without needing to keep a list of them in your friend's list or in a wordpad or something else.Possibly have it able to be sorted alphabetically or by profession type?
As long as there's no option to set a minimum quality, Public Orders are a waste of time and money, entirely designed to drain gold from unknowing players.
If it gets people to actually *post* public orders it's at least better than nothing. Cause no one is posting them now
The problem with doing a minimum level requirement on the orders is that everyone will do 5, and as far as I know most, if not all, professions cannot automatically do a level 5 of the higher 418 pieces, even with insight. It's a proc chance to get a 5. And you can't accept the order if you can't make a 5 (the minimum level doesnt take proc chances into account). I had to have a few guildies cancel their orders and redo them to me because of this. I recrafted until I got a 5, but yeah. So that needs to be figured out if it gets added to public orders.
How about adding minimum quality (up to 4) that's tied to a minimum commission? If people want a high quality for free they are free to search for it in trade chat or put it in with no quality minimum.
The whole system needs a 2.0. I don’t think it should be junked, I think it’s got potential, but needs some kind of back and forth system to agree on the prices ... it’s kind of dumb that the buyer sets the price entirely. It’s even more stupid that they could demand minimum quality because you really can’t guarantee it in some cases ...
Why the actual frickity frack would I want to do public work orders for people who can't be bothered to provide their own mats? >.> I'll make more gold just focusing on farming professions instead. xD
People here don't seem to understand why there is no minimum quality setting on public orders. If there is a minimum quality setting, literally no one is ever going to ask for anything other than the top quality. This completely locks anyone who doesn't have several weeks worth of crafting knowledge points and 100/100 dragon isles crafting out of the crafting order system, system that is supposed to be the main way to level up your crafting profession above 50/100 in the first place.Quality on public orders could only work if recrafting orders were enabled for the public. Keep the quality setting away from crafting, enable it for recrafting. Though even then, it would likely require limitations in order to prevent it from having all public recrafting orders set to max quality by default
Good change.
Oh boy, the amount of people using no materials and no commission orders is going to be nuts!
I feel like they took what we asked for and just used that name, Work Orders, and gave us this. It's fairly limited per profession.I think they could have just given us something like "Bind after trade" where you can make anything that we'd usually classify as Bind on Pick up, but instead it binds after a successful trade or auction. Bingo bango. A design principle at work: Keep It Simple, Stupid. They should have implemented Work Orders like is done in GW2 and just had a way to post what you wanted and what you were willing to pay with a minimum price to prevent spammers/scammers.
cant wait for low gold scams that will land instant on AH after LUL
