They tune every raid for RWF, that's the issue.
Ion, dude, you're so out of touch it's actually scary. Putting shamans and dks, especially in TWW, in the same basket, is quite frankly stupid. Maybe you need to step down for a bit and let someone else that might potentially know the problems you, as a team, created with these buffs and class designs, to step up and give these interviews.
IMO private auras are ok in competitive raiding like RWF in Mythic raids. But they do not make sense in normal or HC difficulty with casual players and PUG raiding. In addition today PUG players leave the raid when asked to join TeamSpeak or Discord, but these are tools to coordinate with mechanics that individual players can see only.
The 20% aura that Morgan has mentioned is really nice idea that could comeback, it would make rekills maybe more fun, especially when you have people that quits after first last boss kill etc. Sometimes it can become struggle, unfun to "reprogress" the raids just because you already progress them at first with almost bis gear and you are not stronger next time. That being said, what I was thinking some time ago during Amirdrassil rekills, especially at Tindral and Fyrakk. I peresonally would not go with the stacking aura overtime buff like it was in ICC e.g. but with something like after every kill of the mythic boss, you gain 2% dmg/healing/dmgreduce aura that would stack and cap out at certain number like 20% or whatever, it would incentivize people to do more mythic rekills instead of just extending the raid lockout because they dont want to go through the pain of some bosses. And also would be nice for poeple that keep rekilling mythic raids after first last boss kill. Imho it would be a lot better than just flat aura stacking every other week or something like that.
So they said the expansion feature would add new visuals and now on this interview are bait and switching to only adding visuals for some under the BS excuse that a spec might no longer feel like the original spec by adding more visuals. They ran out of time as they rush to release their expansion with less than 2 months of beta, and now won't even release finished hero tree visuals, what disrespect for their customers.
I don't understand why they ask these questions that never reflect what the community really wants... why didn't they ask about the neglect they're showing towards Shamans?
Hiii super lore-freak here :DAm I the only one who is appalled at the fact that they are practically burning down concepts like Dark Rangers or the San'layn just to give the Hero talents a cool name but then you don't actually look like a Dark Ranger or a San'layn like... AT ALL?I mean I understand why they wouldn't want to have 108 specs instead of the bunch we already have but why on earth would I want to be a Dark Ranger if I don't @#$%ing look and feel like a Dark Ranger? It's crazy to me... Such a waste of cool potential.Right now, Covenants looked much better in terms of immersion and class fantasy than Hero Talents, as bad as they initially were...
I'm of the opinion that affixes can be made such that they also provide the players with a buff similar to the affix itself upon meeting certain conditions. Something like soothing Raging provides you with some haste/damage/whatever, or something like Bolstering applying to both mobs and and players when a mob is being killed, getting out of Entangling gets the mobs entangled etc. Those are some rough examples written without too much thought.
always fun to see them still up their own butts on so many things. there are weeks i just wont play because the affix sucks and i dont want to deal with it best thing this season is only have one because i never ran above an 8 witch they are mad and a ruining come expansion by making 9s mandatory. we really need ian to step down from wow
God they are incapable. When is Ion finally going to be replaced by someone who understands the very basic idea that if players feel the need to make overly complex weak auras to deal with a mechanic then that mechanic is badly designed? "private" auras are just such a dumb solution to this problem.Similarly that nonsense about affixes "low level players like affixes cuz otherwise the dungeon is boring"If the dungeon is boring without weekly affixes then design a better dungeon, instead of insisting on throwing yet another pointless mechanic on the already absurdly large pile of stuff going on at the same time.
I skimmed a majority of this and the majority of their responses are very lack luster and indirect.
Good stuff thanks wowhead for asking good questions.
if you guys could stop catering to the RWF guilds exclusively when you develop raids I think it'll figure itself out from there. Quit being money hungry and just make the @#$%ing game. Money will come, and y'all will get a lot less hate in-between cashing your checks.
