Few reasons Night Elves might join the Forsaken (with no mind control):1.) They're disenfranchised with the Alliance. Elune abandoned them. Tyrande and Malfurion couldn't protect Darnassus. Anduin wouldn't help.2.) They're afraid of death.3.) Even if on Horde, they recognize they can still protect Azeroth better if they're alive (well, undead) than dead.4.) They were loyal to Delaryn and wish to be back at her side ... depending if she's raised before or after this quest which I haven't paid much attention to.5.) They're secretly infiltrating the Horde to kill Sylvanas from the inside.Kamikaze pilots during WWII willingly killed themselves to damage the enemy. Suicide bombers do the same thing. Spies also infiltrate other groups and have to do things to convince that group they're loyal. Having a select group of Night Elves willing let themselves die to get close to Sylvanas to try to kill/stop her wouldn't be unfeasible. The story isn't done and over. There's more yet to be told. Keep up the whining and we'll end up with another WoD with the story being cut short and full of so many holes it looks like Swiss cheese.
Yikes they're not even trying to make it look like Dark Moonlight, it's just straight up toxic void/shadow magic. My *!@#ing ass if Furion and others doesn't care about that alarming detail.Figured they'd try be more subtle with it.
Still my biggest issue is the burning of Teldrassil itself. It wasn't a disposable Alliance city. It was a proper World Tree. Lore indicates that World Trees are important to Azeroth. And Teldrassil was the last one. I mean healthy and blessed.
Making all these undead Night Elves is even more ridiculous than Cordana becoming evil because she touched Gul'dan's magic ball.
