God forbid that some Night-elves wouldn't be the purest, strongest souls. They just faced a great tragedy, so it makes sense that at least some of them will doubt thier beliefs. Also, the will to survive can be a very strong force that can cause people to turn on thier own people. Some of them value thier own life over thier kin's life. Sure it might sound low and not in character for the average Night-elf, but saying that not even a single one will agree for that, is just being an unrealistic purist. Also, Sylvanas isn't mind-controling the forsaken she had raised, she just can't do it. Just look at the Gilneas scenario, Lord Godfrey kills Sylvanas shortly after being raised. She doesn't have the necromancy power that Arthas had, he was able to control the undead he raised, she cannot.Furthermore, Forsaken aren't "turning evil" the moment they are raised. Maybe the act of dying can make a person more evil, also the fact that everyone else wants to kill you. There are some Forsaken that aren't evil at all, just look at the Mage and Priest order halls and you will find some Forsaken that aren't evil or aligned to Sylvanas in any way.

Not sure how to read this. Does that mean that implied the horde faction split will also lead to some orcs moving to alliance side?
"It is not mind control."Why blizzard considers the players as idiots?Nothing is fixed and the issue is still there. Raising the dead night elves is still an issue, undead night elves siding with the horde and calling it "not mind control" is biggest bull@#$% I ever seen. Why is it so hard to hire people with a minimum brain IQ?
I could see several reasons why the Night Elves would get raised without any explicit desires to be Horde. The most satisfying option for the Nelf fans would probably be they are simply the rotten eggs. They are the scumbags that joined the sentinels not to defend their people and kill the Horde but simply to kill and/or fight. The only reason they hadn't killed their own before was that they didn't fancy the consequences that would be attached to that. Now they simply get another chance to do what they like.Another scenario somewhat mirrors Sylvanas: Fear of death. They could be so afraid of death that their choice simply is "living" again, their shifting allegiance a worry for later. The most important thing here is the ratio. I'd say it's reasonable if between 10 and 20 percent of Nelves can be raised. Probably a bit of an exaggeration compared to what would be realistic but it'd feel better for Horde players doing the quest.I mean, all of patch 8.1 is %^&*ting on the Horde so far, cancelling out the goal we achieved in the war campaign for starters (all that remains is our unplanned "bonus"). And for the Nelf fans claiming they are the one that got it bad, being shat on isn't mutually exclusive.
It's pretty unbelievable (but telling) that Blizzard needs the players holding their hand while writing their own story, because at this point they just can't keep track of how things actually function in the universe of their own creation. With that in mind, I guess it's not surprise that their character development is all over the place.
All I see here is salt and ungratefulness. Even if NE are your favourite race, they are not some kind of untouchable angelic race of martyrs. Their spirit can be broken, their resentment and anger can be used to manipulate them.If that displeases you, stop playing that "$%^& game" and go back to warcraft 3 where everything was Ô so good (even then NE were shown having weaknesses), and shut it until the release of Reforged.Blizzard is actually listening to player feedbacks now, and I don't know if they will be able to discern the relevant things among the whining, so just shut it.
Just wow, all these people trying to bring up reasons to explain this crap ...How can some people be this stupid and not seeing something which is clear as day.
Really just making the night elves look so bad with this raising thing, and Tyrande with her power up and Malfurion failing to stop Nathanos. What a joke scenario.
Good changes, as a night elf fan for years I am happy that they stepped back from Tyrande being incompetent and gave her power boost, to Nathanos getting his backside kicked and the Valkyra sacrificing herself on his behalf. It makes much more sense and feels more like a victory than another slap in he face to the Alliance. As for the Horde part of the quest I am very happy that not all elves now get resurrected like mindless pawns, it is good to see some resist. I feel like with the prominent characters such as Delaryn and Sira Blizzard wants their undeath to have a bigger impact but the execution is flawed. That is not the fault of the writing but rather game mechanic issues. Realistically we cannot wait in the story several days/weeks to watch their internal struggle and coming to terms with their undeath state or their resentment towards Elune and/or Tyrande. It would work in a book or perhaps movie but not in the game scenario where they are not the main focus of the cinematic. I suppose it had to be done in a hastened way but perhaps Blizzard could release small comic, short story or a small in-game cinematic later to add to the despair, betrayal and conflict these characters must have gone through and expand on their choice. Or perhaps they chose it to back stab Sylvanas from her own ranks, seeing that in the book many of the Forsaken were not of the same bitter mind she has, we do not know (personally I would be more than happy to see that).
Look at all these raging alliance kids. They always get the cool stuff and whine when the horde gets anything. There are two factions in this game you scums, learn to share.
