Not liking this The company it's going to i hear has a bad history of issues and crap security
Oh well, back to manual downloads I guess. Farewell Twitch streamers - the main reason I see who is streaming is when I download my add-on updates each morning. Now there's no reason to use the app.
I guess its time to manually download and manage my addons.!@#$ overwolf and all it.
Are we really going to gloss over the part where a lot of what Overwolf does forces add-on creators to break ToS for addon creation as set forth by blizzard? https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/ui-add-on-development-policy/24534Why any of the creators would work with them instead of moving their creations to a 3rd party site that still exists and doesn't just see them as a way to make money off of someone else's hard coding, but does it out of a love for the game and wanting to make it better for everyone, even if initially it was just for them and their friends/guild/whichever..
Really hate this. I remember when Logitech once installed that steaming pile of crap dumpster fire that is the Overwolf client (bc at the time, there was no opt-out option until people massively complained), and it caused all sorts of issues on my PC (luckily you could go in and delete it AFTER you installed your Logitech software, thank god). Once it was deleted, all my problems went away. That is my fear with this, given that experience I had with their crap software. That the standalone client will also be another steaming pile of crap or they will force their original Overwolf app on me when I do NOT want it. This is a huge disappointment to me. :(
Any update on of when Twitch will stop supporting addons updates ?
Did I hear a toilet flush? Indeed I did. It was Twitch going back where it came from.
December 2, I believe I read on app announcement.
