The most epic loot i have ever gotten would have to be my Toy Train Set. When me and my guild are running 25man Nax i always put it down so while my guild leader explain the fight, everyone is constantly going CHOO CHOO! and half the raid gets #$%^ed off while the other half are dying of laughter, and the best part is it was only 250G! the only down side is the 30minute cooldown, but the train is down every 30minutes.
During the Hallow's End event this year, I became kinda obsessed with getting the Horseman's Helm. I went every day trying to get the helmet with sometimes more than one group of people a day. One day it finally dropped but there happened to be a dps warrior in the group so I let him have it since he needed it more than I did being a tank. I kinda hated myself but I couldnt bring myself to take it from him. Every day I kept trying to get the helmet but it never dropped again until the very last try on the last day of the event. I went nuts.. I was like OMFG OMFG OMFG etc.etc. I was like can I PLEASE have it? And of course, being guildies and knowing how much I'd been wanting it they let me have it. I was so happy that I gave 200g to the people in the party and then deposited 444g in the guild vault. I know its not that great a helmet, especially for a tank but I just love the laugh.. Not to mention it looks pretty funny. I still keep it in my bank and every now and then when I'm bored of playing I go put it on and laugh with it.
not in game but related was beign second in line to buy wotlk collectors edition first in line was my mom for her copy!
That's easy. When I was just starting out raiding at 60, I played a mage. I spent every week for months in MC, and never saw a Mageblade. Everyone knew it was mine as soon as it dropped, but it never did. We had a TERRIBLE blind bid DKP system at the time. So finally, the sword drops.I bid 80 (I STILL remember the exact numbers), which was an enormous bid for my guild at the time. I lost the sword to a new mage in the guild by 1 DKP, as 81 had been everything he had. I was obviously furious, because he was a friend of mine, and what he'd done was quite frankly, bull!@#$. Except later that week we killed Chromaggus for the first time, and I walked away with the claw. That's karma!
Since my last post which was yesterday, the most epic loot I got is still Eye of Divinity.
My favorite epic is the Light's Justice. I believe it was the first epic I received on my healer and I loved it! I didn't replace it until the expansion. :)
An epic moment...when I finally saved up the 5000g for epic flying! It seemed like it took me so long to get it...I did my dailies every day and a month later I got it. I was proud that I actually stuck with it and did it without any help. Second to that...getting my Netherdrake!
My guild was running Magister's Terrace. Everyone was level 70, the protection paladin, the frost mage, the feral druid, and the demonolgy warlock. The holy priest, myself, was only level 69. We only wiped twice, both times in the courtyard before Kael'Thas. Only the paladin and the druid had run this instance before, so that isn't too terrible. We got into the room with Kael'Thas. We rebuffed, got ready, and engaged. As the fight goes on, I'm trying to heal everyone. The paladin dies because I healed the warlock's felguard. The felguard dies because I put a renew on the warlock who was life-tapping at the time. The mage dies because I was still healing the warlock. The warlock dies because I cast desperate prayer.Kael'Thas is down to 6%, or about 14k health. I only have 1700 mana (~20%), 4000 health (~60%), and my shadowfiend having just come out of cooldown when the mage died. Curse of doom had 40 seconds left.I, the holy priest, won. Shadowfiend, devouring plague, shadow word: pain, holy fire, I gave Kael'Thas everything I had. I even threw shadow word: death at him. All the while, over Ventrilo, my guildies are both saying, "just hurry up and die," and "come on, you can do it!" I beat the curse by 3 seconds. The Sun-Infused Focus Staff dropped. It could have dropped for anyone, but finishing off Kael and saving the day? That's quite an epic drop.
