We have a small guild of about 5 members, but we are always there to lend a hand when needed. 2 members live in Canada and 3 live on the west Coast in the US.We have been together for 6 years now and one of our members drove to Canada to meet myself and another guild member. We have not been able to drive down there yet but one day we sure hope to go and make a week long adventure out of it. We will pick him up( MJ) and continue on from Portland to the bay area to meet the others :) They are the best guys this girl could have ever met, truly a huge part of my real life family
Back in Wrath when I started playing, I was invited to a really awesome guild where I met a lot of awesome people and friends (sorry that's so vague. Not sure if I should be dropping names). Well, the guild fell apart to some really bad guild drama, and that was pretty heartbreaking. Some of the really good friends that I had made tried to keep in touch with each other, but they eventually went their separate ways. Pretty sure I'm the only one left out of the group that still plays. Really stinks, but at least I'll always have those memories of back in the day.
Back in BC I met someone from my guild. The relationship started off romantic, but the distance (different countries) didn't help it work out.But even after all that and after he left the game, we've stayed in touch. We're practically best friends now and talk to each other pretty much every single day.
I've met a number of current and former guildmates in person. It's always fun when you first see the person and mentally figure out whether they look like what you thought they sounded/acted like online (and they do the same to you).
I met my friend Will on WoW and we got on really well we hard our arguments about classes every so often but it was always fine after, we always did old raids to get the loot for transmog and it was pretty fun, I was really gutted to find out he passed away soon after I came back to WoW from a short break. He was one of my best friends on WoW and I don't really want to delete his Battle net account from my friends list so I can always remember him, just try to treasure your friendships more on wow and try not to argue because it'll take away from the good times you can spend with them
One of my best online friends is from WoW, we were in a guild together and sadly a lot of bad stuff went down in the guild and I had to leave and change servers, and it meant that I didn't get to talk to this guy anymore. Then a few months later through Facebook we managed to get back in touch and we've been in contact most days every since with some of the best chat ever. We're both sadly skint and have university commitments, but when we both graduate in May, we're celebrating by getting game time and running old raids and doing mount runs, which is what we always used to do before <3
I met a nice fella a while back through a friend of a friend thing while hitting ICC. Ended up playing with him for a while when our mutual friend was away and got talking enjoying the WotLK fun and have been talking since, despite being very different in some ways. I guess it is true that opposites attract :D Good friend now, still talk to him daily from work to partaaaying to 'would you rathers' to GF issues! One of the guys now! :D
Met my girlfriend in WoW 2 years ago, Met her after I came out of retirement and realm switched. I joined the first guild that recruited me. She lives with me now and is my best friend. :D
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
I met the love of my life playing WoW, and have never been happier.
How is it fair to to only meet one of the many great friends that have been made over WoW, in the last 6 years I have made so many friendships that only posting or meeting one wouldn't feel right.
Back In Burning Crusade I was leveling a Paladin and I got to Gadgetzan and people were dueling each other inside the townI thought this is kinda cool but these guys are all low level or too high for me.I was lvl 43 Blood Elf at the time and was watching them duel and in comes this lvl 42 Paladin and I thought YES! so I walked up to him and requested a duel.We dueled for a while and It was pretty evenly matched. After that I asked him what you doing in gadgetzan and it turned out we were on all the same quests so after the duels we did quests together and I added him to friends list. After that day we leveled together and pvped a tlvl 70.In wrath we even raided ICC in the same guild and then..Last Year he had to come here to visit a sick relative and so we actually met in person. It was pretty awesome he was exactly like I imagined he would be.I have him on my real ID and we've been friends ever since ^_^6-7 years and counting all from a couple of friendly lowbie duels in Gadgetzan :D
I've met a lot of great people in this game, but there are two that really stand out for me. When we do stuff together it's always a lot of fun, but they're also there for me if I need a serious chat. I love you guys <3
I've met many friends on WoW, most of them on my previous guild :) we had awesome time together, too bad many of them stopped playing after mop.
Back in Wotlk, my guildmaster was this crazy spontaneous girl that was always fun to be around. Over the expansion we grew close, all our free time was spent playing wow together. We quickly realized how much we liked each other. The problem was that I'm from Kansas City Missouri, while she is from Edmonton Alberta Canada. Though we both felt that it would be in our best interests to meet each other. So we planned out a camping trip! 4 years later we are engaged, and expecting a bundle of joy.
A few years ago whilst I was still In College, I met two friends I've known from WoW for a good year or two.Met them in Basildon here in England then headed up to London to go to a museum, it was enjoyable and thrilling at the same time, knowing I could trust people I've spoken to for years on end, I don't really speak to either of them anymore, due to our different life styles but we do keep in touch.I've known alot of people around me to play WoW and I also brought a few of my friends into the game, but after meeting two friends face to face after so long just goes to show people who are true at heart just make the game even better. We all have these sorts of friends but we may be scared to meet them, we're all based around virtual characters and our personality's ingame are a way of communicating with those who do not know us in real life. We use this as an escape and thus making it harder to interact in other means. The moral of this is; never judge a book by its cover but always be vigilant to those around you and those who you encounter as you may never know what they're really like, but also remember to never make any judgements about that person/persons until you know the bigger picture, be safe and keep those around you safe.
I met my wife via wow and have a wonderful family together.
I have made many friends in Warcraft over my years of playing. But recently I met a person whom I hope will be a friend for the rest of my life. His character name is Drethan. I discovered that Drethan and I share something in real life that most others cannot understand. We are both legally blind. We happened to discover each other due to a podcast in which I emailed and it was read on the show.It was amazing to me that someone else could understand some of the thing I went through in real life because they experienced them too. He is a great guy and I am lucky to have gotten to know him.
I currently live in the same apartment complex as a whole group of friends I initially met during vanilla WoW. We went to Blizzcon together, then I started flying here to visit them every few months, then eventually moved here. I've been here for two years now and couldn't be happier. Met my best friends through WoW and don't regret it at all.
I actually have meet a few guild members on WoW after playing with them for years. we actually had a friend flying to home for xmas and he got stuck in our town due to flights being grounded. So we got to meet up and hang out for a few days IRL.
