Mueh'zala feasted unpon their fear and despairSorry about being the grammar police for a minute, but here we are now.
meh, since this is just another perspective book, what's the point in buying it when we 100% know we'll be getting another "chronicle" by w.e future cosmic power race blizzard thinks up next in later expansions :/ how are we supposed to read this book and get invested in this book. We've seen Danuser and his writing team just change w.e they want at a dime, or badly leave things really vague and just more questions than answers so they can think up an answer later, making this all rather pointless. They change/retcon things to fit their stories rather than write good stories that fit the established lore There is no internal consistency in WoW anymore, something Metzen was aiming to put in place with the OG Chronicles that Danuser retconned to "just a perspective". also, Danuser and his team aren't great writers so much of this new cosmic stuff isn't all that interesting tbh. Not to mention, much of it is just ideas and concepts from other fiction but written worse
Nice!
Weird how this new "lore" only raises more questions instead of answers :/
Someone may want to proofread these copied paragraphs
In this thread: a lot of people don't understand what a retcon actually is.
Lol there's something funny about the idea that our immortal souls are mortal. Like imagine going to heaven and everyone there is an atheist.
All I see here is a series of horrible contortions. Unreliable narrators are good for the description of what happens on the chess board. But if the chess board itself is unknowable, why should we care about what happens on it?
Anyone explain me this retcon BS, where Light is beside Death, are you serious?.. Simpnuser ate some bad mushrooms lool
I got the letter that my pre-order was delayed. No reasons, just delayed. No date. The publisher had to screw up badly not to print enough to cover the pre-order demand. That's a marketing 101 for publishing.Annoying. But not enough to cancel the order.
Alright, maybe I have a bad take, but hear me out:They made Warcraft Chronicle and added the initial cosmology chart. If nothing else, the chart was decidedly NOT "titan-centric" because otherwise, Order would have been at the top and Disorder would be at the bottom. Then, they decide to retcon Chronicle, saying it's a "titan-centric" view and we gobble it up. Then they come out with this, where this Broker author is just SO incredibly amused by the pathetic mortal perspective of the cosmology chart that they cannot contain their laughter... and what is it?- We removed the entities (ie. Naaru, Titans, etc.)- We removed the magic associated with the cosmological corner (ie. Arcane to Order, Fel to Disorder)- We moved Light and Order clockwise by 1, Shadow and Order clockwise by one, and put Death on top and Life on the bottom-- oh, and we re-organized the elements- "Reality" is replaced with "The Great Cycle"Let's put aside for a second that this Broker really seems to be projecting with their accusations by putting Death on top. What did we really learn from this new chart? Nothing. In fact, to me it's more confusing because where Order (titans) used to be next to Shadow and Life, now it's between Shadow and Death. Why? What about Eonar?I learned more about the cosmology from the Broker's comment than anything. That whole blurb about "creating" and "ordering" being the same in the titan language tells me a few things:- The titans did not create the universe or planets, just ordered them- Freya didn't create the contents of Emerald Dream (many blueprints of Azeroth's primordial design), just ordered itSo who "created" everything? The First Ones? Are we saying they're the definitive cosmological thing and not just the makers of the Shadowlands? Why is Death suddenly more orderly than Order itself? Is titan technology an offshoot of First Ones technology, and if so, why does First Ones technology seem more crude and is somehow more potent? What the hell is going on?
