O look, the obvious problem of high-end players stacking buffs to absurd degrees happened...Who could've possibly predicted this?Seriously, who thought that allowing the the buffs to stack would be a good idea?
Honestly, I feel like the fix should be something that punishes the abusers, because stacking 22 of the same class is unhealthy. How I mean the punishment ? The buffs also apply a debuff that dmgs the buffed person. At first it’s negligible, when more of them stack on the same person it hurts a lot and at a certain point, kills the buffed one instantly. This should discourage people buffing a single person and stacking. No lfr situation would bring 10+ of the same class to make this a random issue
Easiest Fix is give Aug evokers choice in buffs but dont let the same buff stack. IE Evoker 1 Buffs int and Crit evoker 2 buffs Dmg done and haste. This will allow stacking but will not allow this. This will also give Aug evokers choice in groups. Have a fire mage? use this buff. Have a shadow priesT? use this one.
I mean they have explicitly told us that Augmentation is expected to be broken, hence the timing of the release of spec and that they need much more data than what PTR testing is capable to provide. This and more was/is expected and the goal is to have most of them fixed by 10.2 S3, where it could be actually problematic, not just spectacular like now.
I hope they dont cap it at one if capping it is the solution. I think 2 or 3 would be a fine compromise. I know the Mythic RTWF type people will be forced to use whatever the max is.
People loved PI so much that they made a spec out of it ... awesome and totaly balancable !
Everyone sees big numbers and immediately calls for nerfs, but is this not unironically working as intended? You're just pooling the normal damage of an entire raid onto one person, who happens to be the class guide writer for one of the strongest burst classes in the games. I mean, the thumbnail and title makes it look like a Rextroy-level cheese, but I would need more information before I was willing to say that something here needed to be changed. This will make logs and parses even more useless than PI already did though, which may or may not be a bad thing.EDIT: Nevermind, I just actually read the article.
They haven't been able to balance classes since Vanilla and now they want to throw a huge new variable into the mix. Seems insane of them.
And we all thought PI was OP and created issues.... /insert eye roll here
all my buddies quit because they like improving themselves through dps meters, externals might hurt the game more then they're worth.. and you know the game is actually dying when content creators are saying only positive stuff to get people to play the game again because their view counts have gotten so low
What makes me upset is this is the exact same thing people were abusing in the beta with PI. East fix. Make it so Aug can not buff any pets just like PI. When dk’s locks and hunters get mad they have no one to blame but themselves.
"You can never have too many Dracthyr... we scale really well!"
The solution is to make support a separate role from dps. Then you can limit the total number of support players without nerfing the feel of playing support. Of course, you'll need to add more support specs to the game to justify making it a new role. Demon hunters have two specs, give them a melee version of augmentation. Add bards, add 4th (support) specs to some classes, etc.
So you're posting this article and streamed this live by doing this theoretical method and have blizzard basically outright nerf Augmentation evokers into oblivion / overeact like they always do when people do stuff like this. Also the amount of people in this comment section saying how Augmentation evokers is ruining the game when a lot of people like it needs go touch grass like if you guys don't want a support spec when every other MMO has one right now? Then why are you even playing MMO in the first place.
each player should only benefit from 1 of each evoker buff i thinkI mean, we mentioned the issue to Blizz during PTR about the endless stacking and thought they would have done something to fix it.i really don't think it's intentional despite being a known issue since early announcement of this class on PTR.*reroll*
