Appreciate the concern, I realize what the link is I just don't like a 'bare' download link like that. Not curteous. I never worried about having to mouse-over non-forum links on Wowhead before, now I do.Especially since as I said, there is a clear(er, at least) download link in the next line which still showed above the cut. It's more at wowhead than Overwolf. The sound ads aren't cool, hence adblock. I've tried whitelisting wowhead before, but they always creep back in, even with reporting. If you guys can't have a mute option, I don't want the product regardless of who's end it's on.Also I saw you answered the guy about Carbonite (sort of) but I'd still wonder. Blizzard forbids requests for tips/ads in-game in addons. Even if you're serving someone else's content, you're still the reason someone is seeing an ad. It still seems questionable, at best. I was hoping to hear Overwolf or Wowhead has had contact with Blizzard and checked (I know wowhead has at least some channels of communication, not sure about you guys). And I'm still concerned about this:
This looks awesome! I was SO excited when I saw the news about this creation! But...No Mac version? Seriously?Come one! Why do you have to discriminate against OSX users? This is hurtful! I'm sure that all of my fellow Mac users feel the same way I do, left out and let down. :( I have a Bachelor's in Computer Science from a good school in Boston, so I understand that it's necessary to have to write two separate versions of this add-on style app in order to include both Windows and OSX users, one for each operating system. And I understand that it's a numbers game, with the majority of WoW players on Windows, but you're still alienating a lot of players - yes, it's a small percentage compared to the total players, but it's still a lot of people by the number on it's own. I have a PC, but I'm not going to play WoW on it just so I can use this. The performance is horrible compared to my Mac. And it's all besides the point anyway, it would just be nice if all WoW players were treated equally, with you taking the time to release a product everyone can use.I'm only one voice, but I strongly hope you reconsider, or are already now working on a Mac version. If the only reason you haven't and/or aren't planning to is because your current staff can't code software for OSX, I'll lend you my help. As said, I'm a programmer and can write software for any major platform - I'll do it! Make it open source and post it somewhere, like things are for Linux, and I'll port it so us Mac users can enjoy the same features!
I like the idea of Overwolf, however, much like the last time I had tested it (Bundled with Teamspeak 3), I had a drop of Framerate. Just sitting at the entrance of Vol'mar, my FPS with Overwolf is 33 +/- and without it, 60 +/-.
I do not think that blizz is pulling a fast one on us. I want to say that I still think that the beginning of WoD was good. I feel like this xpac had a lot of promise when it was announced, and I was disappointed to hear about Tannan not being ready for release along with faction hubs being moved to Ashran, but I was still excited to play this xpac. 6.1 was a joke patch which didn't release new content but unlock content that was tested in beta, but still I liked the raid. Then 6.2 comes out and Tannan is released with HFC. I like both Tannan and HFC, but still no Faralon, and it isn't enough to fill more than 4-5 months of time.I loved the quests & story line, HM bosses, and then BRF bosses, and the garrisons. That is where the love stops. I now think the garrisons were a bad idea by blizz. They keep people from getting out in the world and turn the MMORPG into a single player RPG game that asks you to play Facebook games. They made garrisons too central to the story line and the xpac, and with all the problems they had getting them to work in WoW they probably cut resources from other areas to make it work for release. Now 6.2 is the LAST RAID patch for what will probably be a year long, after stating they want to keep content coming and not have the year long raids anymore. Whatever MoP was during its first year blizz kept content flowing. About every 3-4 months we had something new to do. If SoO hadn't been 14 months long it probably would have been seen as a greater xpac, I kinda miss MoP now that I'm in WoD.I think blizz had alot of good ideas for this xpac that got a lot of attention and then scraped for one reasons or another. Development time is the most important resource in something like WoW. If you cut content and relocate resources to another project in the game, it means the months of development and money pored into the idea is lost, and at best is suspended with little chance of it actually making it into the game. WoD seems like it was mismanaged from the start with deadlines that weren't met, and time lost on projects that never made their way into the game. This whole xpac will be remembered for what was cut or not put in the game instead of what was in the game. Blizz charged us more $ to play something that wasn't really fleshed out. My love for the game is down to about (Like) and I'm sure it will continue to fall as the months pass by without content, because PvP is awful this xpac... go figure. I have not been impressed with blizz since the release of 5.4, it seems to be all downhill from there.I am not excited about the next xpac regardless of what it may be, because I don't want to pay $60 for a game blizz promises at announcement and then delivers an inferior product and gives not reason why. That is like ordering a $20 XL pizza, paying for it over the phone, and having a personal pan pizza delivered to your house. With no way of getting a refund or explanation other than we are sorry you feel that way but we "promise" if you buy another $20 XL pizza we will get another pizza delivered to you. If I buy something I am buying it because I want what they are selling. I am not buying what they feel they have time to give me.
Very handy, I may eventually give it a go if I ever move back to PC gaming. Last time I tried Overwolf it wreaked havoc with Planetside 2, but if I can get it to only launch for Wow then it could be really handy.
I get the feeiling raiding will get easier
Hope that Overwolf team will release a mac version too :(
didn't enjoy this pack one bit.too much money for far too little, among other things. i'd like a rebate; it's not likely to happen.
I tried Overwolf, and then promptly uninstalled it after it hijacked the overlay browser (tried to go to one website, it took me to some click-bait sales thing) as well as the extremely loud audio ads that overpowered everything else on my computer. I also "customized" my instal and opted to not install the browser -- guess what icon I found on my desktop? That browser. Not cool, Overwolf. Not cool, Wowhead. Not cool at all.
is anyone else having trouble with overwolf not working in their wow mine wont show the dock in game
