anyone else watch these just to see Panser's different shirts? ok me neither, move along!thumbs Up!
I agree she has cool shirts :D Also let us know what you think of the Overwolf app--there were some issues when we previewed the beta version, but they should all be fixed now! Thanks for the past feedback.
How long do we have to wait to get the Mac version? I use Wowhead all of the time, and am quite tired of having to shrink my screen to get to the internet. Please hurry!
Nice! I'll try it right away!
ok..Overwolf is awesome! Thanks! It's exactly what I've been looking for.
In reply to Panser's cogent disclaimer about the disinformation and conflicting information we've been getting; I believe our new lead developer is learning that he has to be careful what he says around his crew. Such situations as we've been seeing are a reflection on the lead. As a developer he may be first rate and I believe he is doing a great job of doing what he is supposed to do: develop new content.Loose lips sink ships.
Boo! No love for the better OS. Apple!
quick feedback on Overwolf, it works great. However if you immediately notice numbers by your character portrait, this is the FPS monitor for the app. If you want to disable it, hover over the overwolf interface, on the left, and click on the wrench (settings). There will be an FPS tab there, click the box to turn it off. It was the first thing I noticed and I didn't need it displayed.thanks
wow, Overwolf looks great :O
In my Overwolf settings is says the Wowhead hotkey is Ctrl+H, yet when I use that key combination the only thing it opens is the PVP queue panel.I've already checked my hotkey settings in WoW itself and Ctrl+H is not bound to anything. Does anyone know why this would be happening?Update: It appears that Overwolf isn't picking up any of the hotkeys I attempt. I have verified that the hotkeys are set to "Enabled" in the Overwolf settings. Would it be better if I took this issue up on Overwolf's site?
pretty cool for people who only have a laptop or 1 monitor. personally, since I have 2 monitors, I have wow up in 1, browser up in the other...I would however, love to see a wowhead addon of the daily sidepanel on the front page in the game. :)
I agree 100% with your rant Panser. There needs to be some sort of clarification from Blizz and not from a handful of interviews. Like you said, we've heard conflicting things said from a few different Blizz folks, Blizz needs to send out one finalized "memo" about what is actually going on so the player base isn't confused. Blizz mentioned they wanted to possibly release new expansions every 2 years, but they also said they don't want the last patch of an expansion to last a whole year. Personally, I think they should release one last patch that will tie us into the next expansion or at least finalize this expansion. WoD feels tooo open ended and there needs to be closure. I've seen the end cut scene after Archimonde so i know what happens, but i don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it.
Looks promising, just what I need. I play with Nvidia 3dVision and alt+tabbing messes up the interface every time so this would be perfect.Couple of issues tho...1. Doesn't work very well with Nvidia 3dVision, causes stuttering and major graphic issues.2. I play with Logitech G13. Every game has it's own profile tied to .exe (the game) I am playing at any given time. When browsing WowHead with Overwulf it makes my G13 think that Windows is active, so it disables the WoW profile and doesn't turn it back on. This is easy to come around by making the WoW profile the default one and always on, but it's a bit of a hussle since it could be working automatically. If those things could be fixed then this would be the best addon to WoW ever!
Aww I would adore this... but I got a Mac, and as far as I know there's no Overwolf for Mac. Well I'll go on with Wow on my Imac, Wowhead in my Ipad!
This a neat little app! however:I use Chrome as my browser, Overwolf uses Firefox. This meant I had to install Firefox and update the Adobe Flash for Firefox in order to use Overwolf. Not a big deal except that it uses up room on my computer and my older computer was not happy about "sharing" (it gets snitty about using Internet Explorer too).I found that I had to launch the app BEFORE I launched WoW.The app interfered with the graphics interface while playing. The app would disappear when I closed the lookup window (clicking elsewhere on the ingame screen also made it close and disappear). This meant I kept having to relaunch it, which meant I had to keep the Overwolf app open on my toolbar. Having to alt/tab every time this happened kind of cancelled out the "ease of use" your article and Overwolf promised. Hotkeys were NOT helpful.Biggest and most annoying reason I uninstalled the lookup app and Overwolf is that suddenly an ad started up vocally, overriding all the audio on my computer, ingame and otherwise. I don't have the money to "upgrade" Overwolf to eliminate this *cough* feature, and I wouldn't anyway just for the privilege of using this lookup app.Sorry, people - I really wanted this app to work as I alt/tab a lot.
To say that I'm uncomfortable with a third party program which 'overlays" WoW is an understatement. Given Blizzard's stance on such things and the fact that, even if this one is legit, "don't download Addon's as EXE files" is pretty much a mantra to protect the naive from being hacked, is it really a wise move for WoWHead to encourage this?Have you guys confirmed with Blizz that this will not have any chance of false flagging people?
Sweet. First notice Overwolf when I installed a fresh teamspeak3 application, now they are partner up with wowhead very nice. (:

I tried it some time back and the same issue as now. As I am playing a commercial will start playing in the background. This time it is a commercial for "Tide with bleach" LOLIt isn't in a window you can close or find on the computer anywhere. Just a vocal commercial? I tried to get rid of it and can't. The only way I got rid of it was uninstalling Overwolf again. Sorry Overwolf. I really liked the idea.
