This post made me laugh so much. great start to my morning. Thanks :) HAHA
Re topic - Blizzard should have done very thorough research to make sure they make the right call. This seems like very harsh decision and players have right to be upset. Scarab Lord? MT of a guild?. Got banned for mass farming of Linen? Jesus.Re Off-topic - allowed or not, seeing multiboxing players is such an immersion killer. I was boosting my friend in SM and within 10 minutes of waiting for him to get there, I saw maybe 10 different multibox groups? Can't vouch my arm for it, they all had names like xzbgdgas asdsdjka anasdns ... Now, lets realize that I am from Arugal OCE server that got hit most by removal of layers. We had 3000 queve in peek and 5 hours waiting time - I bet it's mostly due to players being afk in Org since 4pm to make sure they stay online for an evening raid - and second reason would be those dead accounts. If there is 500 active multiboxers on the entire server - that's minus 2500 players (or 2000 if you only delete the extra accounts). That would dramatically help with server queves and Orgrimar lag. Maybe multiboxing could get banned on overpopulated servers? And don't ban players but put them all forcfully on one realm that will be solely populated by multiboxers ... their impact on server economy must be so huge ...
"but multiboxers pay 5x money to Blizz so it's ok" No they don't, they make enough in game gold from their multi gathering to not need real money, so Blizz don't get their money at all. Perhaps they only allow it for the ones that do actually pay, instead of use token, that would make some kind of sense ...
Let's not pretend there isn't a huge botting problem ... there is, and there is plenty of evidence. And the patterns of botting are not hard to miss. Of course, I don't know the details of these specific players or what they were actually doing, but something tells me it's not as cut and dry as Blizzard got it completely wrong.
Welcome to the world of reducing GM roles and increasing ban automation.
This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Why even give a spotlight to these losers? lol
All you bois crying about multiboxing are ridiculous. Someone even said it ruins the fun of the game for them. THEN QUIT. https://www.icy-veins.com/forums/topic/38173-changes-to-multiboxing-in-battle-for-azeroth/It is legal, as you can read quotes of the Blizzard GMs here, and truthfully the fact that you cry about it and don't do it yourselves just shows you are lazy. Why on EARTH do you care if someone else plays a certain way? Except for the fact that it impedes your farming in which case, be smart and have some initiative and do it too. It is free if you want it to be. There are free multibox softwares and you can buy memberships with gold. QUIT CRYING YOU LOSERS!
You were exploiting that farm by denying others with your many accounts. No sympathy.
As someone who bottled, got caught and warned; most of their proof falls flat. For example ' talking in chat' while Botting is the easiest thing ever, you just chat while the bot does other things. A false flag is incredibly rare. Twitchy movement, hard angle changes, walking into easily avoidable obstacles, stacking mobs and not looting them until near respawn. There are so very many tells.
If you call people casual for being frustrated because of a multiboxer, you have either not farmed mats enough times to come across a multiboxer or haven't done world pvp or nazjatar battles where a multiboxer with 10 chars cap a flag in 10 seconds, which makes you the only casual here. Go actually play the game and do it in a realm that isn't dead and you'll see the boxers.
Blizzard gets more money if they are buying tokens with gold. For every token they buy, Blizzard has made $20 instead of $15.
