A big shoutout to Time and Date for helping with math! super useful for this :)
Argus is already getting fairly stale for me, I can't imagine another whole year of it without anything else to tide me over. I would definitely be interested in if they'd toss stuff together for a potential 7.4 as a stopgap -- unlocking some of the allied races and adding the six new character slots per server would be alright, especially with the levelling changes coming in 7.3.5.Here's hoping!
Not coming before fall 2018, for sure
I'll just go ahead and be the unpopular opinion guy and say that I hope it's at least a year before BFA launch. With Blizzard being wishy washy about artifact skin unlocks, and with the sheer volume of content released this expac, there's plenty still to do and way too much stuff hinging on a deadline. I sincerely hope BFA isn't so crammed with time-sensitive stuff. :-/
I say Aug/Sept... 12 months from this pass blizzcon would mean we have been in this xpax for 26 months which is the same for MoP 26 months. Subtract two since blizz probably don't want us to be in Legion for a year after BFA announce and that leads to 10 months or Sept. However, they could stick to the last week of August like Legion release.
.. hmm.. ill be placing a bet on April or may next year
At earliest, probably May-ish. At latest, September.
I think it will come out on the normal patch cycle as well but it would be foolish to say that there is as much depth of content and story in BfA as there has been in previous expansions. I think this will come off as a filler expansion but I have hopes that later on in the cycle when they bring out the old gods that it will shape up positively. I just hope that they don't lose a ton of subs in the process. After all paying $70USD for a filler xpac doesn't sound too good for veteran players. I do think releasing Vanilla for free (w/ access to closed beta) with BfA purchase would entice players to pay. My 2 cents.
Ok, Tin Foil hats are about conspiracy theories, not this type of stuff. But my guess guess between June and August, I speculated Legion would be July-Sept and we got it in August, so I was pretty close.
All the trends and schedules we've stuck to for Legion kind of have to go out the window when you throw in what must be the indeterminate period of beta testing a new expansion. That said, obviously I want sooner than later, but I'm also hopeful for more announcements like race/class combos to tempt people to try the newly scaled leveling content before allied races... and you know, because nightelf paladins need to be a thing!
429 days....so glad I wasn't a big raider back during the end of MoP and was more of an altoholic...
"Back in the days" (cough cough, grandpa Artio talking), an expansion took almost a year after the announcement. But every expansion, that time shortened. A little. Draenor even took too long, they said, so assuming even shorter time, we get to even less then 9 months.Calculating from now, I'd say we'll get the the expansion late summer or early fall.
well well, unless I am mistaken, september - december usually is Blizzard's favourite period to release games/extension
jesus again with the filler expansion, please let's try it first before we say it's filler,i think blizz took a pretty BIG hit from WoD and dont want to be beaten again.
Since Blizzard did not even mention or talk about Pre-Orders for BOA I’m thinking it could be more like Q4 2018. Everything mentioned about timing and the book makes sense, but how come with Legion Pre Orders went live the day it was announced?
Using the model of release dates of the past, here is some data of just general "days between expansions"So this is each expansion and then how many days before next expansion.Using this math it puts BfA right around Sept 2018 Launch BC 2007-01-16 Wrath 2008-11-13 667Cata 2010-12-07 754Mists 2012-09-25 658Warlords 2014-11-13 779Legion 2016-08-30 656BfA 2018-09-19
