Never heard of him.
I find this really odd.Orlando is my friend, I've known him for 21 years and ever since I met him in the old battle.net playing Starcraft, his dream job was to work for Blizzard. He's the biggest Blizzard fan I know and had his room fully decorated with Blizzard merch. He even had a WoW-themed illustration made for his wedding just a couple of years ago. His departure seems really strange to me and the only thing I can think of is that working for Blizzard was not what he thought was going to be.
Another notable individual leaving the company.Best of luck out there; it won't be much longer before an announcement hits that Microsoft is laying off workers due to budget concerns. Even if they said they won't, I have opted not to believe them.
MoP Remix was the best thing WoW has done in years. Hopefully we'll see more of it. I'm sure him leaving won't spell the death of the concept, but all the same, I hope others see the value such a fun event has and bring it back soon.
Sad, Remix was awesome. At least the foundation for it is in place for other expansions. PS was cool, just not for me as I’m not a big PvP fan.
Can't fault him for having had a hand in Blunderstorm; that fiasco probably had a lot of overseers dictating the work. And even if it was his brainchild, meh, no one's perfect. The rest of his projects were solid and on point, though, so I've no doubt he'll be successful wherever he goes. He's got a great attitude, and I feel like it would be awesome to work with him.
This guy's a software engineer. Engineers do not design the game concepts. Game designers design game concepts. Engineers implement the game concepts on a technical level. Everyone here who's commenting on not liking Plunderstorm and MoP Remix shouldn't blame Orlando Salvatore or any other software engineer but the game designers.WoW had a lot of features in the last few years that required significant technical changes. Working on a large 20+ year old code-base must be very difficult and frustrating. If Blizz pays as poorly as everyone says they do, they'll have a hard time keeping a competent software engineering team because there are tons of other companies out there that need software engineers.
Never ask a Body 1 his salary.Never ask a Body 2 her age.Never ask the Lead Software Engineer why he is leaving the company weeks after thousands of guild banks have been deleted.
All roads lead to private server 🤝
Remix huh? So he is the one that ruined Galakras so I cant solo SoO anymore. Better he goes far away from WoW.
So many times I sigh playing WoW, exclaiming: Do they even play this game? And here we have someone who did and made fun things for me/us. And he's leaving. He will be missed. Sometimes making your dreams come true is not what you dreamt it to be, I guess.
Hate to see him go, seems like he cared about player enjoyment a lot based on the features he's got under his belt. I loved remix, and single player quality of life things are always good imo. Hoping his departure wont make this game more of a slog.
Sorry for a negative comment, but one of the new generation devs, who "fortnited" the game. WoW needs less of these.
Remix was pretty cool, I played it a lotGood luck to him
Too bad about all the good things he did, but more heads should roll at Blizzard for the Blunderstorm debacle.
Plunderstorm s2 when?
