thats unfortunate, i really like the game modes you made! you did a good job! plunderstorm and mop remix were super fun memories in my 2024 gaming year!
What a shame. Plunderstorm was the best gamemode they have done
Blizzards turnover is always surprising it's not worse. Their pay is shockingly low. I know some positions are more than two times worse than industry standard but basically every dev you know about could make 10s of 1000s more going down the road (literally, it's just down the road) and working at AGS or something.Didn't vibe too much with Plunder personally but it's one of those things that even if you didn't like it you can see why others loved it and you can see it had sooooooooo much potential. More potential than anything they've made in a long time. And for it's first iteration it was very well polished.
Wonder if it's got anything to do with the layoffs. Even if he wasn't chosen it might have killed his passion/morale.
Damn, Plunderstorm & Remix we're awesome, shame to see him go.
Nothing personal against him but I wasn’t a fan of any of the things he designed, as I think was the case with many other players. Hopefully his departure signals that Blizzard won’t be doubling down on them in the future. And I also hope his next gig won’t have him working on any of the games I play.
Plunderstorm was interesting but the grind to get everything made it feel tedious until they buffed the xp at the end of the event. I did really like the focus on dodgeable mechanics and I think that they could utilize that in more aspects of the base game, such as Delves.MoP remix could've used some adjustments in a few places but overall was a pretty good addition that I spent a decent amount of time on with friends. I'm interested in seeing if they do more remixes down the road.I don't have much of an opinion of follower dungeons since I haven't really utilized them outside of the Rookery one during the campaign.
I haven't actually played retail since wrath was retail, but I did play plunderstorm a bit. Cool idea and fun game mode. I wish this guy the best with his future endeavors.
Follower dungeons seemed pointless to me. But I quite enjoyed plunderstorm, and I thought remix was one of the best things to happen to the game in many years. Good luck to him and what he does next
cooked best events in years and left, ye time to leave wow too ?
I would celebrate if they would never repeat the atrocity that was MoP Remix. What fool thought that daily raids were a good idea...
dream job yada yada had so much fun yada yadaok then why you leaving lil bro?
This is the guy that had the nerve to say Blizz has the best QA in the industry btw
Seems nobody can properly read in the comment section. Not surprised though, its WoW playerbase afterall. He was the Lead Software Engineer on those projects. Therefore he didn't design those things he made them work on an engineering basis. If you didn't like Plunderstorm you gotta complain to the actual game designers not the software engineers. Also this happens when you critically underpay your staff and is common in blizzard. The good people leave. Probably the reason why QA seems non existent in TWW a long with the tons of bugs and other technical issues. Greedy company good riddance. They can be happy that great artists are underpayed in general or the last straw that holds blizzard up would be gone too.
Lol, based on that resume, can't say I'm sad to see him go. Regardless, best of luck in your future endeavors!
