I really like flavor articles like this. One of WoW's greatest strengths is the world itself, it's probably one of the most atmospheric games I've ever played. Even though I've been to all of these places before, it was nice to see a side-by-side comparison.
Lazy Turnip FTW!
Sorry, but that's not Thelsamar. That's not even an inn,
That inn in Loch Modan is in fact Farstrider Lodge, not Thelsamar.
Oops, fixed :)
Miwana's Longhouse in the Valley of Wisdom. Home to my characters throughout Cataclysm, and still houses my bank chars. Innkeeper, Bank, AH, all within short reach, without the need to dismount, you can even speak to Miwana while outside the tent, so you can immediately mount up after hearthing. It's also less populated (especially by those idlers) than the Valley of Strength or Honor.
Okay Wowhead, you finally got me to register.. I really like these flavour articles that have been popping up lately.. it's clear to see that there is a lot of love for the game. People need to stop and take in some of the world now and then, everyones got such a one track mind when it comes to WoW these days.. keep up the good work :)
They've been fixed. Several typos in this. The Lazy Turnip: lanters to lanterns. The Salty Sailor: freespirited to free spirited. The Slaughtered Lamb: descents to descends, descent to descend. Wayfarer's Rest: chandliers to chandeliers.Pedantry aside, I like the Blue Recluse. Free food and a Moist Towelette, what more could you ask for!
Lion's Pride? And here I avoid making human characters ever to give the place a wide berth! Then again, maybe it isn't as bad elsewhere as it is on Argent Dawn-EU...My favorite, absolutely, is Gallow's End Tavern. Although I've reverted to Alliance due to friends, my heart of hearts is still Undead - that's where I started my journey in Azeroth.
How could you leave out the inn in Gorgrond, run by Rexxar's pet mouse, Keepers? That's the best inn in the whole game.
great job!Ahh so many memories it's hard to pickCantrips and Crows - spent many days here trying to fish up the Giant Sewer RatThe Broken Tusk - Killing Ganon hundreds of times, also I don't know where that merchant puts everything but before I got my vendor mount this was my go to place to vendor all my junkThe Filthy Animal - loved this place and bought a few recipes here if I remember correctlyWayfarer’s Rest- by far the best looking decour, but why doesn't anyone go here? This city is always dead when I visit. Makes me sad to see such lovely art sitting aloneWorld’s End Tavern - I remember saving up for months to purchase "Gigantique" Bag from Haris Pilton, also a very funny reference at the time.
The Grimm Guzzler will always have a special place in my heart, as Blackrock Depths was my very first dungeon, several years ago. We assembled a full-newbies group and it took us a whole night to clear the dungeon completely. We stopped at the tavern for a break and talked about ourselves over a mug of ale.I still go there every now and then. I wish Direbrew's Remote was a toy! I am still farming it with my current main and no luck so far. Thanks for the interesting article!
No mention of the Speedbarge Bar?A floating bar in the middle of a giant lake where you're served by Daisy (Dukes) and can start bar fights between goblins and gnomes? All it needs is pool tables and my hearth would never be set anywhere else. That aside, I always liked the Legerdemain Lounge back in Wrath days. Something classy about it, and it was right around the corner from where you could get you shoes shined.
My favorite inn is the Salty Sailor in Booty Bay, so unique and so cool!TY WoWhead for doing this, going above and beyond once again its like the Male PAndas says "Slow Down!" jk plz dont stop i love your articles too much!
Come ON, you guys knew which inn was going to win that poll hands down. Then again, visiting Lion's Pride on MoonGuard is like visiting 4chan's Random board - either you'll find it hilarious, or be more offended than Uther was at Arthas.Speaking of which, what's the going rate for a "companion" at Lion's Pride these days?
Kharanos Inn (Dun Morogh) is mine ! Just because like in RL it's set in the snowy mountains !
Brill Tavern before they ruined it with that purple ugly stuff. Even the music was unique there.
Worlds End Tavern is the place to be to see that blood moon :)
