Ok the wording is a little weird. Did Blizz ban/disable Alexstrasza recently? Or is it up to the player?Or was this already in the game to begin with?
You can play the card, and then Blizzard will destroy it.
what happend if you use it to heal your hero?
The same thing happens; It gets destroyed, no heal happens and your 9 mana is not refunded.
its ok this being out but battle.net is down
Still destroyed, as shown in the link to Athene's video
Your decklist for Noth's deck is missing a card, he also has Iceblock in his deck (at least one), as he played one against me on heroic.
Those of you who want to see Alexstrasza in action but dont want to search thru the 6 hour long video the actual play is at:
Noth also runs The Black Knight in his deck, at least on normal, he used it to kill my Sunwalker.
great that Alexstrasza is disabled on HC Loatheb XD, would be sick with from 99 to 15 health in 1 card XD
Still quite a cheese though since you can pull some stall tactics to hit turn 9, especially given Loatheb's predictable "go for the face" AI.
That's the irony though - Athene was trying to use Alexstraza to heal himself, not go for an offensive.
There are issues with the guides, coming from someone who's done all the content and experimented with it first hand:1. Noth has Ice Block in his deck, at the very least. This means that for one of the better strategies, freeze mage, you may need to stall for an additional turn even if you well and truly have lethal.2. Mirror Image is going to be a bad idea against Noth early - you need to be able to follow it up with something like Frost Nova or Blizzard on the following turn. Those 0/2s will prevent a bit of damage on one turn - but then they'll give him two additional 5/5s to swing with on the next.3. For Heigan, the fight is pretty much all about positioning - as he autocasts the spell on heroic, you can abuse this, and you'll more or less always have the choice as to who gets erupted. In particular, Nerubian Egg is simply amazing for the fight, as it's effectively a 2 mana 4/4. I found priest to be a good class as Lightwell can also pull weight, as can Injured Blademaster + Circle of Healing, and Auchenai Soulpriest + Circle of Healing can wipe the majority of the board if needed.4. Loatheb *doesn't* usually play one a turn. He'll only play his spore-creating cards if he has a reason to - which generally means, if he has minions he wants to damage/kill.5. Loatheb has a Fen Creeper out initially on heroic (as well as a spore, so you have at least one method of getting through the Creeper). This means that cheap taunters like Shieldbearer and Goldshire Footman are actually *bad*, because you want him to ignore your minions until you can get a sporeburst off.6. Again, he doesn't play a spore each turn. This is extremely relevant when it comes to popping spores - in some cases, if you want make good use of additional spore poppings on a single turn popping only one or none is the right call, just in case he sweeps you afterwards.7. Minions that can pop spores through a battlecry are very useful for the fight. Elven Archer and Crazed Alchemist, in particular, as these are the cheapest two you'll get, and Ironforge Rifleman is arguably too expensive. In many of the strategies you'll use against him, you'll want to go turn 1 1/2 (or Argent Squire), turn 2 1 drop or 2 drop (both my successful runs I've played Haunted Creeper), turn 3 as many minions as you can, followed by popping the spore, and cannoning a minion into the creeper to kill it. Priest is a great class for the match as you can heal up minions weaked by Sporeburst so that they don't die to a second one, heal yourself to extend your clock, and use Holy Nova to do all 3 - pop spores, heal your minions, and extend your clock. I've heard of people having success with a hunter deck and Unleash the Hounds; I imagine to get around the Fen Creeper they'd simply Hunter's Mark him, and then cannon one of the hounds into the spore instead (if they even pop it that turn; I imagine he'd almost surely Sporeburst after an UTH).
The replies to the first comment confuse me. The two blue comments imply that Blizzard banned the card entirely and that using it in Loatheb hc means you'll lose the card permanently. Can anyone set me straight, please?
