It is just for slowing down mythic raiders
Blizzard must have wanted to slow down the Azerite farming. It was very likely a number of players would had been at 45-48 before season 2 started.
I'm level 30 and I do the bare minimum to get Azerite; so if they're trying to slow people down, that's fine.
Can you please post the requirement for the next raid items? I`m sure most already have the requirement to have the first 3 ring unlock but they will still panic...This is the same as Legion Knowledge that had a cap.
before you judge, actually look a the level requirements for the next raid, the heroic gear all require lv 35 to unlock the first 3 rings of traits. then a little less for the normal and a few levels more for the mythic. unless you are part of the group going for world first and farming your ass off to get around rank 40 before the raid comes out it won't affect you that much. all i do is my weekly islands, my emmisaries and my mythic 10 for the week and i'm comfortably at rank 33-34 on my alts.

Last time I farmed AP was when it was actually meaningful back in Legion. Haven't had the slightest urge to farm Azerite since it came out. My main is at like 31 or something. I do Islands when I feel like doing them, not for my weekly AP.
So basicaly no point in farming Azerite. Just hit the cap at 33 and wait for raid to get new gear which can benefit from higher lvls and also artifact knowladge to get the desired level with far less effort.
You should probably aim for 40-42 by the end of January, lots of people on 38 so it should be OK.
Mate I've been doing the bare minimum over the course of a month and my Necklace is 32.
So get to 35 before raid and then do nothing until the last 2 weeks of AK increase. Ok sounds like a plan.And then about the m+ azerite change. Does or does it not drop from the end chest in M+? Because for the longest time blizzard wanted it to be from the weekly cache and then now you can’t even get it from the weekly cache and only get it the currency. Awful a lot of work to make me not care about traits that I progressively have to keep working for. Should have tried harder on the anniversary bosses to get gear for those three slots and just be done with this hamster wheel.

Do people complaining not realize that if they kept AK going up it'd just mean the unlocks for season two gear would be tuned higher? You can't really get ahead much by grinding, that is the whole point of exponential Azerite requirements. AK just serves as a tool to effectively shift everyone up by a level. If everyone moves up 6 levels and all the gear needs 6 levels more, it doesn't change anything.Just play the game, earn AP naturally, enjoy it when you unlock a new ring, maybe do a bit of a push if you are close to unlocking something, or just wait another week - you will get there.
Nyarloth. It’s senseless trying to explain it to others. Let them grind out AP now and hit the caps. You and plently of others like you (including me) have comparatively too low of levels to have a pony in this race in order to voice our concerns. I already tried voicing my concern on the forums and people have already decried it as me wanting catchup mechanisms before raid release. However if we were to have level 38 or so we would be seen as elitists trying to mitigate our grind and getting fully unlocked gear once mythic comes out.It’s pointless. It painfully obvious that blizzard has no intention on listening to their playerbase that just wants to play the game without having all these systems and rules designed to regulate player behavior. I have already dealt with enough of that crap for years with school and work. I play the game to mentally relax not analyze when to best spend my effort and time to keep up with my friends (which have admittedly fallen apart).Overall I may put another level or 2 on before DA but I’m going to just be playing alts. So tired of this. Expansion likely won’t be fun and efficient to play until a few months before it is over.
Well, I am having fun with it really. I do pretty much a bit of everything and by this I mean all content, even Archeology, yeah. I still have stuff to do and whenever I get bored, I just exit game and do something else.
