This is definetely a useful talent to get, especially for warriors who like using 2 handed weps. It allows you to do maximum damage to your enemies, and if your crit % (from cruelty and/or polearms and axe specialization) is really high, this can do lots of dmg over time.

Keep in mind, with this talent in raids you can and will knock off more significant debuffs. Take a warlocks DoTs for example; when you crit, deep wounds will apply and if all the debuff slots are filled another debuff will be knocked off.
When choosing this talent be wary of complaining warlocks (like me).
Although come expansion there will be 40 debuff slots, and it will not be a problem.

This is a real nuisance for Rogues, as they have no way (unless they are a Dwarf) to remove bleeds, and so, if this is active, it will always pull them out of stealth should they try to Vanish. Don't rely on this exclusively, though, remember your Rend ability, too.

The tick of a Deep Wound (and presumably a rend) breaks Intimidating Shout.
EDIT: It turns out that this is not quite true, it only breaks the 'fear' on the stationary target. This seams to be because it's not a fear at all but a incapacitate (i.e. like gouge) with a fear animation. I.e. the other targets who're actually running in fear are not so easily calmed.

Deep Wounds is really a double edged sword. It does a very respectable amount of damage for absolutely no rage ((Weapon DPS+AP/14)*weapon speed*0.6 with three points, and completely unmitigated by armor), and breaks stealth, which I have found to be infinitely useful in PVP. However, IT BREAKS CCs. This can be a real pain in the ass in the arenas if you're paired with a Hunter or a Mage, as it will break their Freeze Traps or Sheeps, respectively, if for some reason they need to switch targets (i.e. The Rogue you were just bashing on popped Sprint and is now in the Hunter's face). This can also create problems in raids, especially for trash pulls. If, for some silly reason, you were attacking a target you shouldn't have been, like, say, the sheep, or if you let off a Whirlwind too close to one of the CC targets, there's a decent chance (depending on your crit chance) that whatever you just hit can't be CCed for the next 12 seconds, and it's very likely that someone's going to die, particularly you and maybe one of the healers. Now, theoretically, this shouldn't ever happen, but everyone screws up sometimes. This talent just means that when you screw up, you have a good chance of screwing up REAL bad. On top of all that, since Deep Wounds refreshes itself automatically and only ticks every two seconds, if you crit more than once every two seconds, your Deep Wounds ends up doing absolutely no damage at all. This makes it much less useful for DW raid DPS than it otherwise would be. However, it's still relatively respectable for Warriors who choose to use a 2hander and slam instead of DW. All in all, this is a decent talent that adds respectable DPS at the cost of predictable CC, and is definitely a must for PVPers, both because of the bleed effect and because it's the prereq for Impale, which can add a decent amount of burst DPS. It should also be seriously considered for any raid DPS Warriors who are using a 2h slam build instead of a DW build.

This complimented with rend i found can do allot dmg together, but its perfect for still getting the bleed effect on pesky rogues and feral druids in berserker stance. Rogue runs off vanishes, and when he pops back out just intercept or shoot if your rooted, while rooted I once arrowed down a druid running away bleeding, couldn't of done it without it, not to mention 4% physical applies to ranged, this also procs on ranged crits to. You really cant go wrong having it.
Would like to know if this adds threat at all though, mostly just for the sake of knowing, but also in case of off tanking knowledge needs.

Anyone in beta can confirm if this talent still suffers from the DoT timer reset everytime you crit?
Although the weapon usage for both arms and fury will in most cases be two-handlers, thus making Deep Wounds more effective, I was wondering if it would be sufficient to invest only one point here in order to make room for some interesting talent combos in the fury tree for the purposes of BGs / World PvP / Soloing, namely Intensify Rage with Improved Berserker Rage.

With the new changes Deep Wounds has placed consistently as my warrior's top damaging attack (going neck-and-neck with Mortal Strike and white damage,) making it an extremely powerful PVE (a little less powerful for PVP) talent for its position in the tree. For reference, the warrior I'm testing on has 34% crit in battle stance and is geared in s3/s4 arena set.

I use this on my dual wield (not that it needs clarifying, but just to keep you from having to think...2x1H) Fury warrior, and after a few builds later, I can't imagine a build without it, especially for solo-leveling. With the changes to BT healing, I have yet (2.5 levels later) to fear-bandage on a fight. Even with non-ideal weapons, and having a low crit rate (it hovers around the low 20's as i pick up new gear...) this talent is still well worth it.
With Armored to the Teeth talent, this talent scales with almost every stat we have, and unless you have a specific reason not to get it (well laid out in the previous few posts) its an awesome talent to get, and the points you have to spend in arms to get to it are well worth it.
Although now, especially in my case (which is totally sold on BT and not willing to give it up while I level), the real debate is improved TG, or still badass Deep wounds

It goes without saying, of course, that slower, harder-hitting weapons are better for Deep Wounds, but there are several tanking-itemised, 2.6ish speed weapons that drop in Northrend.

a GM were talking about a possible Deep Wound nerf a few months back.
And I admit that I haven't tried this on live servers
, but on the 3.0.8 test servers I didn't see any of these insane tick numbers people are talking about.
With 3265 unbuffed ap and 28,52% crit and Titansteel Destroyer + Runeblade of Demonstrable Power in off hand, each extra crit only gave about 50-75 extra damage to the tick, about 75 average with titansteel equipped, and 50 with Hammer of Quiet Mourning (same amount of ap). But after a while it seems that the "charges" fade away, but the time feels somewhat random. At most I've been able to stack it to 550-600 / tick
Edit: Alright, after finally testing this on live servers (3.0.3) there were really no difference at all. But that makes me wonder, what are you doing to get so massive amounts? Oo
And also, people say that this is awesome for tanking. But even if I manage to crit a thunder clap och shockwave, I'd still only do about 50/tick for 6 seconds in my pre-heroic gear (pretty much the best you can get). And yeah, the buff timer doesn't reset itself, each "charge" expires after a few seconds. And the extra damage is really minor. I'm more thinking "Is that it...?" than "Awesome talent! Must have it!"
Edit2: While talking to a GM about a different issue I asked about this. And basically he said it was bogus that you could get Deep Wounds to tick for 7500 and 11000. But he also said that my own tick was a bit low.

After trying this out with prot, I can say I was somewhat underwhelmed. Incite did show a nice boost in crits (I was seeing 800 damage shield crits) and 8k shield slams. But as prot in decent gear with the
Red Sword of Courage
, i was seeing only 50 or so damage on initial crits, stacking rarely ever exceeding 120ish due to lower crit rate.
On loathweb I did manage to stack deep wounds all the way up to 3200 damage a tick. But keeping it in my spec for spiffy numbers on one boss doesnt convince me. It was nice landing a lot of bleeds on packs of mobs, but being prot with such a low crit rate, it didn't seem to pay off as it was far too inconsistent. I'm going to try seeing if I can get a sizable increase in its damage with a far slower main hand before i spec out of it.

While everybody calls this a must have talent and the core damage dealer there is something I don't understand
I don't have the good computer to let a bunch of add-ons do a lot of testing so I generaly mathematicly draw my opinions and test these values in game, most of the time they are correct but here
"dealing 48% of your melee weapon's average damage over 6 sec."
so your weapon's average damage
(let's say a 2H with 300 dps and a 3.50speed, adding 5600AP (= another 400dps),
these are quite big numbers I give to point out the weak result,
giving)
700*3.5=2520
times 48%
22520*0.48= about 1.2k
over 6 sec
1.2k / 6 = 200
200dps?
What am I not getting here, it's probably a tooltip misintrepretation, but I'm realy confused.

The Deep Wounds effect comes up on the enemy you're fighting from ANYTHING you critically strike with according to other posts (melee critical strikes, trinkets, ranged weapons, abilities, etc). So effectively the slower the weapon you have the more damage you'll get from Deep Wounds because you will only be losing the frequency of Deep Wounds debuffs from your normal melee attacks but you will still get just as many from your instant attacks or trinkets. Lets take a random fight i've made up and i'll use the weapon damage you've given for a rather huge dps from Deep Wounds.
So, you hit the target with a melee strike and a Mortal Strike as soon as the fight begins. Both of them crit.
Deep Wounds will do 2,400 damage over 6 seconds or 400dps (using your 48% of weapon damage, 1.2k)
it ticks twice for 400 damage before you get an improved slam in
We'll assume slam crits aswell adding another 1,2k damage over 6 seconds, stacking with the previous deep wounds debuff.
Deep Wounds will refresh to 6 seconds and still have 4 ticks of 400dps of the damage from the beginning melee+mortal strike crits, but also have 6 ticks of 200dps from the slam.
So for the next 4 ticks of deep wounds, it will tick for (200+400) 600 damage, then the last 2 ticks will be 200 damage. Unless of course you refresh it again within that time with more critical strikes (which should be likely)
Overall, using your weapon damage, assuming someone crits with an ability or melee attack at least once per second, after 6 seconds of fighting your Deep Wounds will be ticking for 1200 damage per second.
I hope this helps and i hope i haven't got anything wrong.
Edit: I'm unsure if 1 crit per second from abilities + melee is normal or not, so this may be overestimating or underestimating the power of Deep Wounds. Also to just point out that the weapon dps used in the calculations is unreachable with current gear. The attack power is more than reachable though (used a 300dps weapon with 3.5 speed 5600 attack power, from Ultros' example)

With trauma up it essentially does 62.4% of your average weapon damage.
Say your average weapon damage is 1000.
1000 * 0.48 = 480
480 * 1.30 = 624
624/1000 = 0.624
0.624 * 100 = 62.4%

Testing this for damage at lv 76 as Prot, after getting all the other nice talents.
Yes, it stacks with itself, doesn't seem to "lose charges", just keeps getting higher and higher in terms of ticks...
But I'm thinking about several things here:
1) Even with lets say ~20%crit raid buffed+15% from talents to most skills... deep wounds will fall off in longer fights due to crit inconsistencies (as dps specs generally hit more often and/or have much higher crit rates).
2) The tiny damages(due to our necessary 1H, and tank weapons leaning toward faster speed, thus lower actual weapon damage) this will likely not matter all that much in AoE unless you are honestly pushing everything you have and just barely can't keep up.
3) Many Warriors will go down to Impale and/or Anger Management (although I'm recalculating the benefit of Impale atm as well), and no farther, except in a

build, as most of Arms mid-tier talents aren't very good for tanking.
4) I'm rather excited about the patchnotes for 3.2 that say Shield Spec will give 5 rage on block, dodge, and parry (instead of just 2 on block), so I will likely chuck said 2-3 points into Shield Spec to get 80-100%.
5) In a raid setting you should (hopefully) have another tank more suited to AoE threat, which basically all 3 other tanks are... so this is something more of a Heroic tank talent?
6) Is 20% crit in raiding realistic? Not much Agility (if any) on tank pieces, would Kings / LotP / Horn (or Totem) get that high? This is also not considering 10man as much, as it will be somewhat more popluar in 3.2 I think due to the introduction of (Heroic 10man) and (Heroic 25man), as well as regular settings for both.
So, as far as I can tell, this is really not all that great... Discuss?

The tooltips says
"...dealing 48% of your

so it should be both hands
Because of the apostraphe, the part you have highlighted just states:
that it deals 48% of your melee weapon's average damage (that is the average damage belonging to the melee weapon) over 6 seconds,
rather than stating
that it deals 48% of your melee weapons' average damage (that is the damage of both melee weapons (plural)) over 6 seconds (as I think you assumed)
To answer the original question:
When dual wielding (titan's grip or not) Deep Wounds will do 48% of the damage of the weapon that crit to cause it (OH crits cause 48% average OH damage, MH crits cause 48% average MH damage, Crit with both you'll add both seperately)
Some additional points because I couldn't see anywhere else clearly explaining them:
DW damage is increased/decreased by anything that increases/decreases your AP (eg Battle Shout/Demoralizing Shout)
DW deals its damage every second over 6 seconds
DW stacks with itself even though it looks like it doesn't.
When you critically strike while DW is up it resets its duration, adds the damage has not yet been dealt from the current DW onto the damage that the new DW will cause, and reapplies the buff doing that much total damage over 6 seconds.
For example, say there is 1 tick left on the current DW when you critically strike again, each tick of the newly applied DW will do: 1/6th of 48% average weapon damage + 1/6th of the remaining 1 tick on the old DW
