Fel Creep is a random drop off of any herb in Felwood, it can only be obtained through herbalism and may only drop when you have the quest "salve via gathering"

Fell Creep is turned in to obtain Cenarion plant salve, which allows you to clense varios plants in felwood (whipper root tubers, nightsong, dragon's breath ect.)

You gather herbs if you have Herbalism and if you get these items you can turn it in for Cenarion Plant Salve, which allows you to cleanse plants to get items or buffs from them.

Just like Blizzard nerfed the picking drop amount of the plants (whipper and night dragon) they also nerfed the amount of Fel Creep you get per herb picked.

Pre 1.9, you used to get 1-3 Fel Creep on every single herb. Now about 50% of the time you wont get a single Fel Creep per herb gathered.

Way to go to Blizz...

I am an Herbalist and got this quest. With the beacon, will the felcreep show up on my minimap? I have rode around and found nothing.

for fel creep you have to harvest herbs, the fel creep is sometimes in them

This Riverbreeze character doesn't understand me anymore and won't trade fel creep or shards anymore. She just points to the south, and of course there's nothing but the deadwood village there. What's going on?

I think the drop rate has been nerfed, it used to be guaranteed to get some from any herb in Felwood. Now you'll fel creep maybe half the time only.

Agreed... they definitely don't drop the way they used to.

As of Classic in 2019 for the quest Salve via Gathering I have herbed a good 60 nodes so far and have not received a single Fel Creep.
Salve via Hunting I have never received a single item either for the entire time I was questing in Felwood on both my Warrior and Paladin.
Only one worth doing is Salve via Skinning as the Patch of Tainted Skin actually drop!
