If you're trying to pick up this quest and don't see anything available by the marker on your world map, go back up the hill and zone into Oribos (using the waystone) and then back into Korthia. Afterward, Plague Deviser Marileth should appear like normal and offer you the quest.

You kill the mobs, and with the corpse targeted you use your extra action button to Command Ooz. But you do not get quest progress.

It's not because the quest is bugged, it's because someone else snagged your kill!

Each kill only gets one chance for an Ooz to grow on it. Your kill can be stolen by a player of your own, or opposite, faction. A player does not have to tag the mob to feed their Ooz on its corpse. A player does not have to participate in the kill at all. A player merely has to use their Ooz on the corpse before someone else does.

When an Ooz has fed on the corpse, all that is left is a pile of bone remains. You can loot the bone remains (e.g. for meat, silver or greys), and a skinner can skin the bone remains. But an Ooz cannot feed on bone remains.

So try to kill shardhides where no other players are around, and command your Ooz before you loot the corpse (to save time and get your Ooz in first). It's possible to loot first and then command your Ooz, but that's extra moments for someone else to Ooz your corpse before you do.

Mobs that your Ooz will consume: Shardhide Growler, Shardhide Alpha, Shardhide Den Mother. No gromits, no scavengers, no gorgers, no Shardhide Cub.

If you kill one of the correct shardhides but you are outside the marked quest zone, you won't have the Command Ooz button available so it won't count.

Hi all

Daily Quest Oozing with Character can be dan in 3 ways. it all depends on Ooz in Quest.

Green Ooz:

You need to slay Shardhide Growler or Shardhide Alpha and then on corpse use Command Ooz ( on extra Bar ) 5 Times.

Blue/Purple Ooz:

You need to get to 30% on Shardhide Mobs ( location 50 30 ). then Use on them Command Plaguey ( on extra Bar ) 10 Times.

Another quest, where credit is not shared and the mobs despawn after someone "oozes" them.

Get into a group and share the credit or accept that this is v2 of the gold quest.

yet another fully tested, working as intended quest...where hoardes of players compete over 1 mob who spawns every 5 minutes...

And another "fail" quest... it might have worked on PTR where there were 2 people doing it, but not on the LIVE servers. Kills are not shared, you kill mob, somebody else "steals" your kill and your ooze eats nothing... seriously, Blizzard you are testing my patience really hard ;/

I refuse to believe Blizzard does not play the game, but FFS quests like this kind of show they don't. few mobs, long spawn timers, not shared, people can steal your kills. Whoever came up with this dumpster fire of a quest should be fired.

You're not supposed to command your Ooz when the Shardhide mob is dead, you're supposed to do it while the mob is alive and have little hp left.

The most important thing you need to know - you use your ooze on the mob when it's almost dead, not when it's dead.

Yay, another one of those %^&*!@#$ed quests that requires you to weaken - but not kill the mobs before you have applied a quest-specific debuff on them. None read the quest utill the area already is cleared for mobs and they wonder why clearing and looting doesn't give credit. It doesn't help either that the mobs are skinnable - and the quest area is heavily farmed by skinners who doean't care about people trying to do this quest.

Edit: Wow, it seems like my blizzard-slur where the second z is replaced by a t got added to the swear filter.

Many posts complain about others stealing their kills. To me, it is just broken today. I was nowhere near others. Still my ooze cannot feed. I have abandoned it and will try later. Maybe.

With Plaguey - You need to use your extra action button on a shardhide at or below about 30% to get credit. The animal MUST be alive.

Another garbage Korthia quest made worse by faction tagging, narrow activation threshold, and that terrible and unnecessary 10 second cooldown on the quest ability.

skin the creature before you Command Ooz , don't! auto loot (hold down shift or whatever you set up)

the Corpse might despawn after you commanded Ooz, if you skinned beforehand you can just loot from the pile of bones.

Hit mob, but not too much, just "enough".
Spam button and wait for mob to not kill you while you spam the button more.
Hit mob again because it's health is too high, kill mob, get no credit, rinse and repeat.

I'm trying to do this right now, and i'm not getting an ooze to follow me or an extra action bar, anywhere to click on anything when a bear is low health.
Not sure what is supposed to happen right now.

Something gates whether this quest shows. I've finished the Chains of Domination series on one character (9/9), but I'm only at 3/9 on my others...none of them can see it. I hate Korthia, so I don't want to quest any more there than I have to...but I'd like to get the Chompy pet that sometimes drops as a reward from this quest. If anyone knows what the criteria is for this to show, could you post it here? Thanks!

If you're doing this at max level and you get the Shardhide Infected one with Plaguey, target the shardhide, use Soft Foam Sword and mash the Command Plaguey button. The slime will one-shot it after you bonk it but you will usually get credit.

At lv80 Ooz does 300k damage per hit, but you can just use the ability on corpses now.
