I died last night to him and could release instantly. Did so, foolishly since I was never going to make it back before he died, and got loot (well, gold) but no quest credit. So it's not quite working as intended for everyone.
That explains why my whole raid was bloody dead and I had time to drop combat and rez. Figured it was just a long death run. :/
Blizz needs to rethink these WB phasing, specially as their WQ has the option for you to search for groups thru the LFG window. Either LIMIT the size of the raid (to 25/30 instead of 40 people?), or whatever. You could go there, pop a group yourself, start inviting people, and another person from your same server do the same, and you end up with double raid in there, and still this game doesn't work very well with NPC adds, like those the boss adds in the fight. Conclusion? Tons of nameplates and UI stuff going out there, that even the mid-to-best PCs will have some kind of hog and freeze. That's on Blizz's end.I was getting DCed just by 'tagging' the WB World Quest, in the log, from ARDENWEALD (double checked this). Decided to travel there first and let it pop when I was close, then search for a group. Didn't die (as a Hunter, I had swapped my soulbind to Dreamweaver, who has a 10-min CD cheat-death perk), got saved by Dreamweaver, but oh boy, dozens of player skeletons around there (when I finally got phased in).I'm totally a fan of 'shorter' raids in the game, we're surelly past the Classic style of 25-40, if possible. They already have the sharding techs, make more shards with less ppl then e.e
This article is incorrect. Died with 20% left on the boss to go. Had to wait out the full 160 sec timer, then released, & when i got back to my body, never got credit.. no WQ reward.
I just killed it and got a 207 ring + war lego memory + a 200 conduit! Mega loot rng or memory + conduit was 100%?
I had to kill him twice.The first time I got an epic ring but I had to kill him a second time to get the anima reward...
The "6 minutes until release" is until the automatic release. Normal death has exactly the same timer, albeit not nearly as long. You can manually release after 3 minutes/180 seconds.Other than that, the boss seems bugged. After reaching about 35%, the boss started just spamming the Spine ability over and over, essentially trivializing the last part of the encounter.
If it isn't bad enough that to even get to the world boss you have to run a gauntlet of a thousand mobs, but when you die to the boss you get locked from rezzing and then a very lengthy run back to your corpse. I died twice as a clothy just trying to get through House of the Chosen, that was after dying to the boss. Whoever Blizzard put in charge of mechanics, layout and content of this xpac has a mean streak a mile wide with masochistic tendencies.
Tip: I made sure I had the "Anti-Daze" saddle for my mounts. I forgot the name of it, replaced my Water Walking one.It helps. When you get hit, you slow for a few seconds, but don't get dismounted, and speed back up.You will take damage, but since you don't get dismounted, you can usually keep going and not get wiped in transit.I don't know if this info helps anyone, it has helped me.I am sure it comes in handy much more than water walking in this xpac.
