"My proposal is to keep Personal Loot as the rule for all content, but modify it such that items can always be traded, regardless of item level. In modern World of Warcraft, despite the stated intentions of the developers, item level is not always a good indicator of which items are upgrades - in some cases, like with trinkets, corrupted gear, or items with sockets, pieces that are 30 ilvl lower than others can be the best choice.."I believe you summed it up best with this statement. Within 1 hour after the raid ends players should be able to trade all gear. For me, sometimes I am running a raid for achievements or quests but may not be a main or may not be a toon I am worried about getting BIS whereas the guy next to me who has been running 20 different ways from Sunday might be looking for that item. Thanks for the article, Master Looter was always hell on raids when the leader who takes all the gear for himself to sell or DE from a casual raid. There was no accountability for the casual raider before personal loot came along. As someone who use to raid heroic or mythic years ago, it fell on me to distribute the loot which somethings turned ugly. People would swap gear to just show they did not have something better so many times. Seriously, I hated the cheaters, the ninja looters, and making my job of handing out loot harder. Personal Loot means I did not have to hang back and distribute the loot and could run with the raid and enjoy the raid time.
players who want forced personal loot are selfish, raiding is a team effort.it should always have been optional, PL is fine in pugs, i rarely pug anyway, but not in guild raids.any guild who take raiding just a little serious are using "masterloot-like" loot rules anyway, but we still get cucked by the rigid PL loot system, so we are forced to keep #$%^ty trinkets and gear with %^&*ty stats, when it was bis for someone else. %^&*ing stupid system!

Master looter was a cancer of pugging. Do you remember "All gear reserved" pugs? I do remember and I hated it. Now everyone works for himself. PL all the way!
RemovedML removal was bad. If you didn't agree with your guild LC then leave and find another guild that suits your way of thinking, if you couldn't find any maybe the problem wasn't ML but you.
Can't help but feel the people raging about this are just mad they can't ninja loot/reserve things anymore.
One example of personal loot being the worst loot system ever: After defeating M N'zoth my coop tank looted the Psychic shell tank trinket. He then bonus looted and got the second one. He was not able to give me the first, so instead he just vendored it. On top of that, our DPS with tank loot spec got another one, which he was willing to trade me... of course he could not.Let just people trade loot and distribute it as they wish. Not all of us are #$%^&*!s. This obligatory nontradable loot system only works in unorganized casual groups, who raid from time to time.
I don't understand why they couldn't keep Personal Loot to LFD/LFR and let groups formed outside of those think for themselves.Even if there are ninjas/liars/cheaters/etc it isn't right to punish those using it accordingly.
I agree with the solution presented.
imagine if payday rolled around at work, and instead of giving you a check, your boss was like "Steve will let you know how much of the payroll you're gonna get, if any."
Personal Loot is fine, but please let me trade my loot IF I want to trade it, regardless of the piece of equipment I am wearing or what ilvl I had equipped before.
Something else i wish Blizz would implement for personal loot. A UI functionality that would allow the receiving player to click a button to submit a tradable item for need/greed/ roll. That way it would then pop up for other players the option to roll on a piece of loot. Blizz already had most of that functionality in game. Bringing that back as part of personal loot would go a long way to helping with the clutter and confusion of chat and could even include the item getting moved to the winning player automagically.Personal loot is healthy for the game. There will always be drama over loot, I just want the ability to trade away anything I get and have that process made easier.
Personal Loot:Sorry, Shaman, I can't trade you Mar'kowa.I know that I'm a brewmaster, and I have no use for the axe, but unfortunately I haven't looted AND equipped a 475 int weapon yet.I can't trade the trinket either, as I didn't place my other 475 trinket in both slots, sorry.Master Loot:Oh sweet, who needs Mar'kowa?
