Anyone saying 'it'd be great' to be able to trade anything that drops in PL regardless of ilvl is ignoring the other side of the coin here. Not having restrictions means the community is also going to gradually shift over to the expectation that anything that drops is going to be expected to go to whoever 'needs' it most. This means that you're probably going to have to trade away just as many upgrades as you are unwanted pieces just because it's 'better' for someone else in the group. Right now, at least you're ensured to be allowed to keep any upgrades you get without worrying about pressure to give it to somebody else.
If you don't need an item and are still able to trade it to someone who does, then its okay. Some guilds do it to gear alts / new people.
I see so many of the arguments that corrupt lootcouncils/masterlooter made ML bad for so many, but ive yet to see actual posts/videos/pictures of this going on since it was so "rampant".Making ML an option in Mythic raid when its FULL (so u cant sell gear easily) guild group would have Z E R O downsides, if u join a guild that abuse it, u just leave.Reason for making it Mythic only is that there are many cesspool "social" guilds who raid where this could be an issue were ML is the GMs wife/boyfriend/etc, this is less likely in proper mythic guilds.
Just make ML an option for Guild groups in Mythic raids ONLY. Those are the only ones who actually get a real benefit from ML over PL anyway. If you remove the ilvl requirements it's basically back to ML for everyone, not that I'd be against that but I think the mythic guild group only solution is the best middle ground we can hope for. Now, realistically speaking, Blizz will not change a thing. peroid. They should, there are clear and apparent issues with the current iteration of the system that thousands of players have pointed out over the course of BfA, but they won't. And even if, by some miracle, they decide to do so, we'll have a conduit situation again where Blizzard will attach some utterly pointles restriction like only being allowed to recieve 3 items per week via ML with no purpose other than antagonizing the playerbase. So perhaps we're better of with the system as-is instead of being forced to make """"""""meaningful choices"""""""" about essential pieces of gear.
After being in a guild whose guild leader constantly held gear for herself and her cohorts, good riddance to master loot. Never hope it comes back.
I find it hilarious that so many people are making excuses for toxic behavior that ML created. ML isn't required in the game as long as Blizzard removes the ilvl restrictions. Based on my past experiences people just want that power back so they can gear their core group of raiders while making sure others are helping for zero benefit.
adding a buffer of +10 ilevels if your item has a socket or something to compensate to the personal loot rules would be nice, or if person you are trading with has been in the same raid as you before and will get an ilevel upgrade within a certain limit (10-15?) would be nice - but too much work with coding to ever get made a reality with the small indie company devs blizzard is using.
You will be able to trade the 475 belt the next time. The system tracks drops, but only for BoP.
Removing of Ml is actually just stupid. Let it be a system people can opt into, let them have choice. That way the people who benefit most from PL (often under-performers or casuals) can pug groups that use PL while actual raid teams that push progression can assign raid loot in a logical manner that befits greater overall raid performance. Most of the people I've seen argue for the PL system are the types who blame any shortcoming on their gear, wanting to greedily hold onto everything while still taking things from others when the opportunity presents itself.
I'm ok with personal loot..I am NOT ok with not being able to trade gear that is a higher ilvl than what I got, that prevents me from getting items from my friends/guildies that don't need them, or being able to give to my friends/guildies.I am NOT ok with getting the same items over and over and over again.I am not bull$%^&ting here, 8 weeks in a row of getting bracers, then randomly got a pair of pants on week 9, and then bracers again for the next 4 weeks. All hell will break lose if you get three of the same item from your archive in shadowlands.
Removing masterloot was either done to slow down gearing or was the problem of having a hammer and every problem then looks like a nail. They already had the right solution in place in Legion-only guild groups (80%) could turn on ML. I didn't abuse ML as a raid leader and I don't think I'm some super special unicorn. My guild is still regularly complaining about PL two years after being forced into it. It's very funny to me how the PL advocates claim the ML advocates are selfish when it's the ML people who want to be able to give their gear away. If you don't want a two week no gear trial, don't apply to a guild that has one. It's that simple. Instead now we're all punished and have to vendor gear our friends need.
Many top-level raid teams suffer a lot from this system.I think there is a problem because it is not a complete personal loot. This system is not a complete personal loot because it can be transacted. It's not bad that only personal achievements affect the strength of the equipment. If trade is not possible, a lot of problems will disappear.wow needs to remove non-esport systems such as RNG and item trade. A complete personal loot would be a good example.
An advantage to PL is it also makes "selling" runs and raid services less profitable and similarly impacts gold farming. Less spam loot means less money for market. Consider now the streak of guild disbanding Blizzard has been on.Incidentally however "Public Facing" elite guilds are they necessarily must represent themselves as "disproportionately represented among top content creators and the most publicly-facing guilds in the game" or else in absolute one-or-the-other terms concede that Personal Loot is beneficial to a greatly larger number of unassociated players.Curiously this is while also apparently not being mentionable by name. How strange.I think having both options available through some raid lead toggles should be reasonable to expect and perhaps even painless to implement, but on that end who knows why Blizz does what it does.Removed
