Fun police is on the move. I''m so glad I did it on day 1 :)
problem still is there. The idea to get TW badges from PVP event sucks. It should have been objective based or other FUN innovative ways. I am SO glad i got the mount the first day before people learned how to abuse the Rams from youtubers and then leave the battle. Now i am leveling alts and every match i enter is an already lost one in progress.
Changing the mines and ram/wolf quests makes sense, but why get rid of scraps? That actually requires you to help fight.
Does winning or losing actually counts towards the mount now?
I have a feeling this will just have people entering and dropping more frequently...
I understand removing it from the mines, it makes sense since that will lose battles, but removing it from armor scrap makes less sense. Repetitive as it may be, you're going to the heat of battle to get those scraps most of the time and not just running back and forth from the mine. Removing repeatable scrap tokens further encourages just doing the rams or dailies and leave within a few minutes and the rest of the team to just abandon base and let the other side win (Alliance is doing this in particular). I feel like a good way to encourage trying to win is drastically increasing the reward for that and losing sticking to just a little amount so it's not hopeless to complete, but actual desire to win would hopefully increase.I love AV, but this event doesn't properly encourage trying to win. If only the mine thing was removed, I'd say there would be a net increase in trying to fight. Heck, I'm alright with the improvement in making more things daily reward for those who don't have the time to play what should've been a longer battle. Instead this hot fix seems to make the AV match even more toxic for the losing side.Maybe I am just incredibly unlucky with teams, but I don't see it in my discussions with fellow guildies.
Hopefully there is still some 3+ hour games. That's where the real experience is. Both for leveling alts and reliving part of what AV was back in the day. After the fixes last night I played a few games, and they didn't last more than an hour each. Good for the mount grinders, but now I have to wait in queue more often to get in.It took me eight hours to get the mount the first day, playing only a few games, and not farming the mine. Mostly armor scraps and rams when they were up. I don't see what the problem was with this time frame. Seems pretty reasonable for an event that lasts two months.
Seems like it will be easier to grind the mount IMO unless you're the kind of guy who absolutely has to have it Day 1, in which case you already got it. A few runs over a few days, those dailies will get you there.
I agree that farming rams/wolves and mines wasn't fun while also ruining the experience for others, however I was having fun farming scraps for badges. It kept me right in the middle of the thick of it while giving me a way to earn badges outside of farming old dungeons that I don't like doing.
Thx god for a change, I just couldnt stand the grind :P
YAY FOR MORE GRINDING! Everyone loves AV and its pve right? Right?
Good! Now you gotta win the battle for most TW badges. It's a pvp mount, if you want it then ENGAGE in pvp. clicking in mines are not PvP.
So glad I got my mount before this change was put in. Very anti consumer on Blizzards part not everyone has time to waste away 3-6 hours in a match least of all those who work 50 hour work weeks like me. Those applauding this damn anyone with a full time job to one hell of a stressful grind and I am just glad I am done.
Imo, had my first BGs today and they seemed fine. Despite the fact Alliance got run over by the Horde, BG clear was fast and was able to do dailies. 30% in 2 battlegrounds is not that bad which lasted maybe less than half an hour.
