I better get some popcorn ready for the comments
My thoughts are: they're going to pair D:I discussion with another new mobile game or games. I also think they're going to have a PC option to play them via some sort of application (Blizzard Mobile Arcade?) for those who don't have phones.
I'm hoping for only Mobile Pet Battles and only that. That's the only mobile game that Blizzard needs.Anything else will get booed by fans anyway.
At this point, ignoring the mobile market when you are as big as Blizzard is just bad business. Of course there will always be the PC Master Race people other touting that anything not PC isnt gaming, but thats just not true. It may not be your platform of choice, but its not invalid and should not be ignored.
I never seen Blizzard as a company that learn from their mistake, mostly how badly they have handle WoW content in the past (12 month of tier one after to other then 12 months of drought, repeat 5 times) but they seem to have learn a little this year (no live question, so people don't pull a "is this an early April joke"), so maybe this time they will wait to have a complet product so people don't shred to piece the strawman they are building, like they did Diablo Immortal (we knew nothing about the game but everyone was talking about how of a scam and cash grab this game will be, c'mon this is Blizzard, not a Square Final Fantasy mobile game...). Fallout Shelter (ok, awful timing to be talking about Bethesda game but rewind before Fallout 76 and even Fallout 4, while they were still doing fine) was well receive, because a few hours after it's announcement, it's was release, exactly what Blizzard should have done.
If I were Blizzard, I would announce several mobile titles during the intro ceremony, not announce any PC titles and pretend that's all. By the time people start rioting I would come and announce the proper titles and stuff. That would be an awesome evil genius plan and would make BlizzCon 2019 the most talked about event ever.
I think people need to get off their high horse about mobile games. Mobile games have outranked every type of every game. There is no way anyone should ignore it as it will be the most used system. If you ignore the mobile market you will fail.
year on year PC sales just picked up, growing by about 1% (or over, I can't remember the stats), so if they aren't developing for mobile platforms (which includes tablets not just phones), it would be pretty bad business decision both Android and IOS now has a game subscription system so that's something Blizzard can get behind if they don't want to go the whole F2P routewould they announce something on the main stage? probably not, although I would totally be down for it just to annoy people plus cause an outrage generating headlines would they announce something? sure if they have anything to show, even if it's to make the WoW companion a tad better might be worth a footnote
Insert Warcraft: Go directly into my veins please. Maybe it will get me to stop playing Pokemon Go.
if they realy wan bring a mobilegame than i hope its duct to a pc game release or it will be a ^&*!show like last time. say of todd howard waht you want but the fallout shelter reveale after fo4 was a good sell.
I don't mind, but don't like, cuz of those mobile games microtransations appear more often in pc games, also normal mobile games are just braindead mechanics, most certain i wont play.In conclusion when im home i play pc, when out of home im socializing and checking hot chicks.
I would have thought WoW battle pet mobile would have been announced lastyear with the major hype of pokemon go. With the exsistance of the armory, mobile garrison missions ect I can see battle pets to be mobile, probally get more people involved in battle pets besides just collecting them and attract some of the pokemon players and to test the waters and the abilitys of the designers
Wow pet battle transcending from WoW and made Mobile gaming ala pokemon Go with battles against "other players aka bots". With Monthly subscription so they can milk even more players credit cards without them having to fix their bloody errors in the mobile game at Activision.
We know at least one mobile game was canceled. I'm guessing that was related to WoW. I personally have little interest in mobile gaming. I prefer great graphics on a large monitor on a powerful machine.
Fewer PC announcements? Than.. what? lol.
