The idea that all players build talent sets for raw power is BS, I have an Arcane mage that has every ability with the word Time in it, and bonuses to the basic spell that looks like D&D's Magic Missile (Arcane Missiles). There's optimizers out there, sure, and maybe they're the majority, but a lot of us are old D&D players building favorite old characters. I'm not claiming to be a majority, but damn, it's not a monolithic pool of undifferentiated clones out here.
Honestly, I am very glad about their changes and mindset. Making smaller but quality expansions rather than big meh ones. What I would really like to see is more complexity. Back in the day, we had many secondary stats, like Hit, Expertise, Spell Healing, Spell Damage also Intellect, Strength and Agility gave beneficial secondary stats to every class. I know some people say: Okey but what depth would expertise add? And I'm saying: Much more than Plate = Strength, Mail, Leather = Agility, Cloth = Intellect. These stats make each character different from the other. These stats give a certain D&D feeling to the game which it was stripped from years ago. Now everyone has the same health and same mana as the other.
HEAVY BREATHING
so by continuing to ignore major player feedback about player housing they continue to show they do not care about community interaction or fun stuff. gameplay first guys... lets ignore all the other stuff that make MMO's Alive and fun. I mean hell I would settle with guild houses we can show off our victories in and boast about our past accomplishments in. Instead of saying its going to take development away from something... make new development teams that works on adding it and bringing old accomplishments forward to the modern game also. Stop saying we would sacrifice something for it and just add it. I'm sick of hearing the sacrifice excuse. Also you wanna know why M+ causes anxiety... $%^&en timers. If all you had to do was successfully clear it to get credit and not race a clock M+ would be way more fun. The reason people even run it mostly at 15 is for Mythic raid ilvl gear. Would you even stress over it if it did not give you gear for power progression at this point? Does adding in a timer to the stress of it make it fun, or are you simply accepting the fact the system is the way it is and not questioning everything about the direction they choose. The WoW development team needs to be challenged about every single choice they make. They suffer from internal group think so bad it has lead to the disasters of the past. They need to stop assuming that because they work there they are the only ones who know best. Question them, challenge them, and continue to put pressure on them for changes/feature you want. Its clear that there are still some sacred cows that refuse to die at Blizzard.I left awhile ago before 9.2. As of now I will probably come back but at this rate once the raid tier is AOTC and I am at a decent ilvl I'm probably going to stop engaging with the game in general. Why stay? Why play a game that feels like a job and splits the community all over. Beyond just getting to a power point im happy with what else is going to keep me going? Dailies? lol no. Fun things to earn like transmogs and mounts... sure to a point but I have way to many mounts... mounts and pets are getting boring so hopefully the new custom dragon mounts are fun. Social places to hang out, listen to players do fun little things (bard from ffxiv for example) or engage in simple but fun social things is going to keep me around. At this point the focus is still game play first. Social interactions plays zero into any of there design decisions. Making me need more to play content is not social if no one actually says anything. Social interactions are something that spawns organically from players desires to do something in the game that the game does not necessary force to do in order to progress. Give social interactions attention and the player base will stay engaged and feel more rewarded in the long term.
Since we have no more hope in housing, I have no more reason to keep playing Shadowlands or Dragonflight. See you in WoW 11.0, folks (I hope)! So, if the company doesn't have the resources to do that, I don't have it to play either. That was enough for me, sadly. Hugs. *cries as skinny gecko*
Ion has learned nothing.
That's great ! We literally don't have to write essays for what we want anymore, one thing I think will still pop up legitimately is making the game more alt friendly.
Really sad that player housing isn't planned yet still, probably the feature I'd be most excited for.
I don't get the hype with player housing. Not trolling, but what are the benefits from other games? Genuinely curious :)
When can we get a loot lock removal of legacy content? I think it's absurd that after all these years, Blizzard still thinks it's ok to only let people run a legacy raid for transmog or mounts once a week per character. Like I get it for current content stuff. Sure. But this question never gets asked enough in my opinion. If I wanna spam ICC 25 heroic for invincible until I'm blue in the face let me do it. It's 12+ years old at this point. The same goes for all legacy content. Loot locks literally shouldn't be a thing for them. Let people have fun. If it's engagement metrics that's the issue then that's a problem, maybe put more engaging stuff in. Like the treasure maps and treasure map dungeons like FF14 has. Maybe a Deep Dungeon. Even a Eureka/Bozja style of content. You have all these ideas from other games that can be taken and molded to make something better. Blizzard just doesn't seem to understand that. The point is Time locking legacy content is actually trash and needs to be addressed soon. Preferably in Dragonflight.
Devs are always "excited" about stuff when they give interviews. I can't really take this word seriously anymore
If there is Mage Tower 5.0 and its compulsory, I'll stay away.Visions of N'zoth = "Mage Tower" 2.0Torghast = "Mage Tower" 3.0Shadowlands Mage Tower = 4.0
But what about the ducks?
