Everyone in that reddit thread except for the OP was happy about the ban and most wanted a longer one for anyone who floods LFG with spam like that. It makes the game much harder for causal players who just want to have fun if they can't find groups. If Blizz wants to let this continue why not set up a separate channel or category for sellers. That way if someone wants to buy a service they can but the rest of us don't have wade through it.
all these people spam selling should be permanently banned
GOOD. Keep going Blizz, get rid of these guys. And I say increase the penalties for repeat violations.
I don't see an issue with selling boosts, it's pretty much one form of earning gold, though what they should do is make a separate tab for them to advertise in so they wont clutter LFG. Give em a place to do their thing and if people want a boost, they could go there. selling a service type boost is no different than calling a plumber to fix ur pipes. I find it more fun boosting people through dungeons for gold rather than farming and competing harvesting profession resources which has a broken market thanks to botting. Though they do need to crack down on those boost scammers that just aim at taking ur gold, nothing is more toxic than that bull%^&* or those that sell for IRL money.
wow a 1 day ban LMFAO
Kudos to Blizzard for taking action.Trade chat is already full with these kind of advertisements. Don't need LFG to also be full with it.
I have made a habit of reporting every single website advertisement ads in lfg. I didn't know I could also do it legitimately with carry payed with gold too, I'll take a bit more time to do so then.
Finally! The advertising is definitely getting out of hand and making it hard to find authentic groups. I also report every single ad I see in the group finder. This should have happened sooner, but Blizzard has likely been working up to it. That is why they recently added the option to report group listings for advertisements, and I believe at the same time they also made a statement in an article saying that they would be cracking down on this.
It's encouraging when Blizzard gives feedback to player reports, rather than having players feel like nothing's been done. Though would've been better had it been a week's suspension instead of a day... and have repeat offenders having doubling suspensions.
I think a day's suspension is fine tbh, but only because this is pretty much the first reported instance of a ban for such a thing. It'd be weird to have never given an official statement on something that has been going on for years and then suddenly give a week or so ban for it. If you aren't punishing people within weeks of the first time people start doing something, especially on a widely reported thing, and never issue an official statement or a news post that you are updating the EULA to include it it and people do it for a long time and then you just start handing out week and month long bans, then that's kind of skeptical.
Atlast. And actually when they advertise for gold, most of the advetise in the info is writen some website for selling. So yeah well deserved. I hope they are less now
Finally. It's not like I'm opposed those who want to offer service, but that should not be in LFG, they should go to Trade.
As its against the terms of service in the LFG then help by reporting all you see, its quick and easy.https://www.cuckhead.com/news=285321/in-game-advertising-policy-changes-for-group-finder
its about f*%king time blizz did something about this, sick of seeing nothing but carries in LFG
Should be a lot more than one day. Of course, it won't matter, these twits will make other accounts...
Thanks god , i'm tired of reporting 10 of this groups per day
Doesn't look like it's being enforced on my server.
These changes in transition to Shadowlands are coming up nicely. Hope they keep up the good work.
Blizzard could just create a separate tab for boosts.
Wait only for one day? That's not enough!
