I REALLY didn't want to be kyrian but it's best for both single and multi target for EVERY spec for hunter....SoB......
There's no way my Priest main won't be Kyrian. It so happens Kyrian works out for Priests - AT THE MOMENT. By 9.1, 9.2, you KNOW all this will look drastically different.Pick the covenant you prefer aesthetically and just ignore the rest, because it will ALL change. These devs do nothing but make changes, haphazardly, continuously. I find it easiest to ignore their whims and egos and just play what I think looks cool and is enjoyable to me to play.
I think it would be smart, instead of looking at the best covenant/soulbind/legendary, we should instead be looking at the worst, and bring this to blizzard 's attention. Ideally they'll bring it up to within 5% swimming of the best option. Then again, feral druids are at the bottom of the meters throughout most of BfA so who knows.
This makes me happy to see. I play Destro Lock and clearly Kyrian is the “way to go”. But regardless I’m choosing Venthyr bc I just love the dark and macabre in general. Not to mention vampires are freakin cool
I feel like there's going to be so many nerfs and buffs and adjustments and tuning between now and the end of the expansion, it's going to be next to impossible to stay on top of the "best" covenant without spending all your time switching. Honestly, I think as long as Blizzard manages to keep the numbers roughly in the same ballpark, I think the bigger danger in completing content is less in the math and more in people refusing to play unless everyone in the group has the "right" covenant.
Article title should read "world first race" not "raiding" and "pushing high level mythic keys" not "mythic +"
Still picking Necrolord for my Dk. Noone will stop me
Yeahhhhhh, being a tauren frost DK main, I don't really think Night Fae SCREAMS "death knight", in the slightest. So I'm definitely going Venthyr
This is so bad, covenants should be fully cosmetic... They've wasted so much time already by working on balance
To anyone who reads this article and takes it at full face value; don't.This is all based on beta data, and it's going to change by the raid opening when actual sims are being done. Yes, there are a few that are just flat out better for some classes. But for some specs multiple covenants do very, very close to where it becomes a preference of what you'd want to pick. It's also going to be even harder to know the first week 'for sure' because we won't have access to legendries because of the soul ash change. If you're really concerned of what you should be picking for x, y or z circumstance, I really recommend from my experience on beta that you just try them all as you level (which you have to do your first go through anyways), pick which one you enjoy the most/feel like is doing the best for how you play or what you play, and them come back in the second week or third week to really make your choice if you care about pushing content. There's so much room for change between there and now, so don't feel like you're trapped into the choices this article says is best right now. Of course, this is just my opinions with a good side of optimism for things getting balanced.
I already told my raiding guild that there is no way I am going Venthyr unless they are brokenly good for Prot Paladin. They are the only covenant that you can't really fit a prot paladin. Even Night Fae has the whole green Knight defender of life angle. At least Kyrian seems viable for raiding.
I don't raid or do m+ so I don't care about min/maxing, so I will go with a soulbind that gives me a way to make some more money instead since there are some that give items when used.
BM Hunter here. I don't really get to pick mine. Gotta jump through another hoop to tame more pets.
What I think a lot of people seem to forget that WoW is not a single player RPG, where one's choices and decisions matter little, as you're only "holding" yourself back. This is a multiplayer game, and the stronger choices will always be considered the go-to. Sure, if you're a casual player, the covenants might not matter much to you in terms of dps, but for the people who do high M+, PvP and/or raiding, it matters a lot.For instance, I main a warrior, and from the looks of it, Venthyr is the go-to for me in M+ and raiding. However, I find Night Fae and Necrolord more interesting, but unless I want to handicap my friends and guildmates, I've to go Venthyr.Do keep in mind, that this is from a perspective, where the differences between the covenants are unknown. If we're talking about a 0.1-0.5% difference between the Venthyr and Necrolord, then I will likely go for my personal favourite. :-)
