Had to abandon and reaccept the quest (he wouldn't start the scenario). If it was due to lag, it was the most extreme lag yet. The upside is I didn't have to go anywhere or back to previous point - Anduin stayed right there to give the quest, and it started as soon as I accepted it.

When I finished this quest, I had 8 stacks of webbed on me slowing movement speed significantly. Logging off and and back on did not clear it, nor did hearthing but dying cleared it.

Just die to it once and it'll remove the 8x debuff.

If you watch the cutscene and no scenario starts then its bugged/not going to work. Dont bother flying to the objective "Escape from the Burrows" as it won't work either..

It's likely you were in a group and the scenario couldn't start as the other member not present (it doesn't tell you this). Ensure you are next to each other or not in a group for the scenario to actually work. Leave your group -> abandon the quest -> accept the quest -> watch/cancel the cinematic and then the scenario will start. Took me longer than it should have to work this out...

Anduin and Alleria are supposed to help you fight the solo mob. If they're still back there hiding behind a wall, you'll just keep dying. If they're not joining, abandon and restart.

After abandoning and restarting they still never came to help me. You can run out of combat from all the adds. I was able to kill half of them, run away, heal up and go back and kill the rest. Then finally solo her. Even then Anduin didn't show up until after Alleria and I had killed the next boss at the birds.

If you are in a group this quest seems to get stuck after the cutscene, leave the group and talk to Anduin again to watch/skip the cutscene once more. This should work and push you into the mini scenario.

Had to go back and complete Like a Spider on the Wall before this quest showed up. It did not show up until I was level 78

If you have killed the swarm after making your way through the choke point, and Anduin and Alleria are still hiding behind the barrels, don’t try to solo the boss-lady. If you head left toward the stairs, the boss-lady tries to block your path and FINALLY Anduin and Alleria run in to help.

A scenario should start with the quest Escape from the Burrows . If not, abandon and retake quest. The location displayed on the map that takes you to do a delve is misleading.

SMH, what a buggy quest. Wouldn't let me completed it because it requires you to select a reward. Only problem is that it wouldn't let me select a reward so I couldn't complete the quest! Had to fly away and leave it for a few minutes before it would work. And no, my bags were NOT full.

TL;DR this quet is about teamwork! So make sure you quest ALONE or it bugs out.

Addenda
There's a phase where Alleria tells you to slip ahead and they'll cover your rear.
Yes that means the quest text makes it clear they won't move forward til you move far enough.

I used druid Stealth even though I expected it wouldn't work. The green swirls will knock you back.

Theory - untested
If I had failed that section I would've tried to walk it backwards in case it knocked me forward for the quest!

The cutscene was so bad.. Once again, the main characters stand and talk so long, reveal their motives, try to trigger each others emotions... A fist bump and pompous music straight from American war films... And a heroic jump into the abyss, of course preceded by looking into each other's eyes for a few seconds and nodding the head.... We've seen that crap so many times before already... It's embarrassing, infantile, pathetic. The greatest evil in the world can't just kill Alleria and lets her escape so easily instead, please...

I died while escaping the burrows and was unable to resurrect myself. I was hit by the green swirlies, died, and released as a ghost. My corpse and I were teleported to the beginning of the course. There was no grave icon or resurrect button. Reloading the UI brought back the grave icon, and when I moved away from my corpse the game displayed a message saying I must enter the instance to find my corpse. The solution was to log out and back in, where I am now standing with Anduin and Alleria before I started the cut scene.

Description

That stage in the distance is where Ansurek will give her Ascendance Day speech. You, Alleria, and I shall make our way up one of the nearby towers and observe. If we are to turn her own citizens against her, then we must also gain as much first hand experience with her tactics as we can manage. I've already told Alleria as much, but we cannot make our presence known. If we do run into any trouble, the Vizier has arranged for a set of getaway fliers at the edge of the Burrows where we first met.
