As some people have already said, the Afflock writer seemed to have forgotten the Affliction warlock gem that is Soul Swap! I do agree with afflock writer with how the damage profile for affliction has changed, in a bad direction, I just don't agree with their suggestions. I think UA should go back to costing a shard, but not be stackable (just duration gets increased per application) remove rapture. Remove Phantom Singularity. Change Dark Glare to increasing dmg of Dots + duration. Make Siphon Life just heal you for % of whatever dot dmg. I agree, keep haunt or remove Shadow Embrace. Don't make Drain Soul a filler but keep in as an execute that does bonus dmg to low health targets AND refreshes/adds duration to UA (possibly other dots too). And, as I said before, Soul Swap! Affliction should be about juggling DoT uptime. Even if there's some down time affliction used to have the niche of being super mobile and could excel at 2+ target. I also think affliction could really use a big boost in raw damage when it comes to AoE. It's a tuning issue but I'd like to see Seed of Corruption spam make a comeback and be viable. All of the things I touched on were to make Affliction FUN to play again, not with balance in mind.

I'm shocked that nobody mentioned giving Warlock a baseline interrupt. Also, in addition to Loozy‘s Destruction list, bring back Kil'jaeden's Cunning (5.4.0 Version), Archimonde's Darkness, Mannoroth's Fury (5.4.0 Version), Soulshatter, Dimensional Rift, change Shadowfury back to instant cast, and PLEASE change Rain of Fire back to cost Mana instead of Soul Shards FFS!
Bring back fel and demon armor and the cata version of netherward.Also, the old version of sacrifice and give ALL specs felguard.
Unless the circle is green with flowers growing on the edge there is a very high chance the tank is going to move out of it.
Bring back metamorphosis
Affliction: - Malefic Grasp- Shadowlands 2+4PC interacting with SoC, too- Rapid Contagion competing with MR.- A DoT centric side of the tree vs a Direct damage centric side. DoT centric gives things like execute DoTs, faster DoT ticks, making DoTs spread to targets faster like Soul Swap, faster SoC cast times and making the first time SoC damages an enemy spreading/applying Agony to them as well as Corruption. Capstone traits, at different tiers, would be things like Rapid Contagion at the end of the tree. Execute DoTs somewhere in the tree at a different capstone node. Direct damage pertains to faster and higher SoC detonation damage, Shadow Bolt being a replacement to Drain Soul baseline, Nightfall or something in there. Malefic Rapture being the end of the tree for this side and reducing DoT damage by a good bit, maybe 70% and instead placing MR back at 9.0 Aff with heavy nuking damage. -Removed Darkglare CD.-Removed Dark Soul: Misery. Affliction should not need CDs, even for mega high end content. It should have execute paths where, the lower the hp the more damage and faster tick speeds of the DoTs for each target. Maybe make DoTs start at 100% HP in execute and going up in tick speeds by 1% per 1% health lost by the mobs and 1% or .5% in damage per 1% health lost by the mobs. -Mastery for Affliction to include Drain Soul and/or Shadow Bolt should they decide to keep this spell for Aff.- A healing component returned to Drain Soul, maybe 200% of the damage it deals. Don't need 800% from Legion.- Soulburn returned with it being the shard spender for all 3 specs, though more for Affliction. It had Utility purposes with Demonic Circle, it had damage proponents with Haunt, it had a spreading mechanic with Soul Swap. -A return of Soul Swap. Demonology:As has been covered, I want to see the demon form return. Moreso I would like to also see:-Demonology split between 2 sides: Pet summons and pet sacrificing. Summons side would have your pets doing all of the damage like now. Sacrifice side would be you sacrificing your different demons. All demons sacrificed make Demonbolt instant cast. Saccing imps just increases its damage and nothing more. Saccing felstalkers makes Demonbolt apply a debuff for increased damage taken by your spells when hit with that DemonBolt. Saccing Scourges would make DB hit all enemies you are in combat with around the target, like within 10 yards. Saccing Vilefiend puts a 3 or 6 second DoT up. The entire premise around demon saccing Demo locks would be just proccing instant cast DBs and augmenting it in different ways. Instant cast Shadowbolt fillers.Destruction:I want Destro to be built around 2 schools for the tree: Fire n ChaosFire side empowers your filler n beefs it up a lot, generating faster shards through faster and more frequent castsChaos side makes Chaos Bolt hit like a mac truck n some other things.I mainly just want to see Destro return to where it has a hellfire channel and Chaos Bolt is the biggest damage in the tree, in the spec, in the class. Chaos Bolt consumes all shards, embers or whatever you wanna call them and just gets so much beefier per shard consumed.
It's never not gonna trip me out that the kids who write the guides these days refer to Legion as the old days while writing off the way it was back in the original versions of the game as failed experiments.
Can we get a purple fire quest along the lines of green fire to match the infernal from the 4 piece? That Blasphemy looks amazing and having our spells, especially RoF and bolt to match, would rock.
These suggestions are nice, but I heavily disagree with some since I only PvP. I wish the article had "PvE" in the title before I read it all, haha.
Make Felguard great again! For me it feels like Fulguard is just there, it barley does something. It would be nice if you could have like BM where you actually buff you main pet to do damage. Not summon a whole bunch of small ones that also do more damage that your main demon.Maybe have Hand of Gul'dan give you damage buff stacks for your Felguard and your next Dreadstalkers and when Dreadstalkers are summoned your Felguard consume the stacks and does some big hit damage.And/or have a big cooldown that similar to Bestial Wrath
Don't make Demonology so responsive to PI, so it can function great with or without a pocket priest.
More types of demons so that not everyone is wandering around with the same blueberry. There are SO many Legion models that could be recycled as options, as well as older ones like the shrouded voidwalker with the lanterns. There's always tons of emphasis on druid forms and hunter pet options so that they're unique, but rarely ever ours. For that matter, please also return the ability to rename those alternative demons! We had the option in past expansions, but it was sadly removed once they changed to glyphs.
Honestly just rename Metamorphosis to Dark Transformation and Demo and DH can coexist fine. They don't look similar and it thematically makes much more sense for a Demonology warlocks to siphon the power from their demons and transform than it does for DHs to do so. People act like Demonology HAS to be a summoner spec when in reality Demonology is anything to do with demons at all. We don't even have to focus on summoning we could just focus on empowering 2 demons we have permanently or something like that. Anything is better than summoning 900 tiny imps and 2/3 lame dogs. Also please make Tyrant into a Doomguard. They are way cooler looking. Sick of summoning a weird Draenei.
I am very disappointed and disturbed that there is no mention of Kil'jaeden's Cunning and Soul Swap in the writters written piece. What Nott said, atleast part of it, I have repeated for 3 expansions and I am bored at this point to repeat it. Still, for the love of Warlocks, GIVE US KIL'JAEDEN'S CUNNING & SOUL SWAP BACK. For crying out loud. How stubborn can you be?
Now that there is revamp for all classes, bringing the new talent system, I think it makes sense to make things right again, incl. the warlock/warlocks.I have been rolling on all 3 specs on the warlock, back and forth, depending on the mood, and the vibe i would have.Mostly, it would be demonology or destruction. Affliction too, if im in the mood.However, when I like to roll on the warlock, I try to have him, like in the good old days, a bit more complex, a little bit more button rota, and so on.Warlocks been one of the classes since/after vanilla, that has been nerfed the whole time back and forth. Then bringing some good mechanics and abilities, and then they get removed again, and/or they end up being dead.For example: Fel FlamesGrimoire of Sacrifice Killjaeden Cunningall those other grimoire of greater demonsRifts and the other two artifact skills.Even like soulfire they brought it back, but it is not like, what it was back in the old days, that used to hit/crit hard.Whenever one magic was silenced, you could use soulfire, instead of chaosbolt or even like incinerate or shadowbolt and so on.And so many more.I like the warlock to feel as a warlock, and all what he has and can learn in the disposal of what warlocks can really learn and prosper from it. :fingerscrossed:
