Illidan's killing of Xe'ra did not restore the balance between the Light and the Shadow. Remember that.
Has the timeline changed? The future has changed? Not exactly a retcon. You can't retcon the future.
Timelines shift and change. The future is NOT set in stone. So something small or major in the past could've changed that moment. Something happening in present wow changed that moment from when it was first released because the future is ever changing, ever shifting. That's just how time works. You can't retcon the future because the future hasn't happened yet. The very nature of the future is being constantly changed. Therefor ever action we do or don't take is technically retconning the future because we're changing the future through out actions and inactions. Something changed. Maybe it's already happened. Maybe not. But a retcon is when something in the past is changed to justify a current setting that didn't fit with the past explanation. This is basically the opposite of that. Maybe the popularity of Zappy Boi changed things. Who knows.
So does this mean that Life can be evil, Necromantic can be good? Or does this only apply to one section of the supposed 'balanced' forces?Obviously the followers of these sects can use them for good/bad purposes, but they're talking about the pure essences of Light/Shadow with their 'evil' naaru (which is just insane). Where are the void gods that are coming to help us then? You know, the ones that want to eat the entire universe? They can't ALL be bad, after all....
Incoming Shadowform Velen.
even more proof that garrosh, thrall, grommash, gul'dan, sylvanas and so many other characters stories were changed last moment into @#$%ty ones
I'm not the most keen to believe this scene means Anduin will be rapidly aged in Shadowlands. For one, as others pointed out, this a possible future, not necessarily the one mentioned. For another, without knowing how the flow of time works in Shadowlands, and if mortals even age when there, it's really hard to say for sure what would happen, and if it did, would it only happen to Anduin, or to other souls? This also could potentially not mesh well with the idea of a timeskip on Azeroth while we're in Shadowlands, implying time flows faster on Azeroth.Though it leaves the possibility for time to flow differently in different parts of the Shadowlands, I'm not too keen on seeing that as an answer, due to the complexity of it. Finally, in the comic, it describes the final as many, many years later in the comic, which taken at face value, means that this scene takes place far in the future, rather than in the near future, but longer for Anduin due to time dilation or being aged. That's just my take though. It's hard to really come to a solid conclusion at this point. Nice to see speculation though.
