nice opening...
Well not knowing who daft punk is could be because they are not into that kind of music.
As a younger raider, I have so far the best raid attendence in the guild, and the one time I didn't make a raid I'd pre-warned the officer. The only thing that's recently gotten to me is the fact that on Sunday we plan our raids to end right before I get kicked by Parental Controls, and the past two weeks it's kicked me twenty minutes early. They downed Nefarian the pull after I got kicked. That's not really a problem on my side as much as whatever asstard runs the parental controls. My advice to other younger players is: LET YOUR PARENTS KNOW WHEN YOUR RAIDING. Parents just love organized stuff, so join a guild with set raid times instead of 'whenever we have ten people on' and you'll dodge a ^&*!-ton of "Sorry my mom's calling me." If you just say "I can't come out with you to dinner on X day because that's my raid day" and they know they'll be a lot less annoyed. The other thing is: Show you can handle yourself. If you're going to miss dinner with them, pick yourself some take-out on the way out so they can see your actually going to eat. Take a two minute break to give them a hug goodbye. Put a bottle of water by your desk.
Hooray for spaghetti brainness!
I know 2 perfect examples really. We had a 13 year old raider in our guild and he was absolutely awesome. I would up making a rather close friendship with this kid and he's now 17 and still as sweet and wonderful a player as any older person. He was smart, he knew his class, he never made waves, was right on time, there when he needed to be, etc etc, I could sing his praises all day. I didn't know he was 13 until some random thing came up and I wound asking "wait, how old are you?" Up to that point I thought he was in his 20s. Then I had a 15 year old raider that I wanted to throw him out a window. Preferably a skyscraper window. He was rude, crude, brash pain in the butt. He started drama, he didn't know his class, he was never prepared and he ALWAYS whined about not getting enough loot, or someone else getting it before him or God knows what else. And it drove me insane when people would say "oh he's 15 he doesn't know any better" or "oh he's 15, he'll grow out of it" or any number of age related excuses. And knowing both of these players makes me both dislike and understand the guilds that add an age restriction to their applications. Age means nothing; attitude, personality and knowledge are your keys to a good player.
I main-tanked Kara at 11.I'm now progression-healing through Cata at 14. For younger players-- just roll with it and ignore your age, but make sure you don't can out on anything to further your actual life for raiding. ⌐⌐ If your guild can't accept you're young and have a social life, find a new guild.
I agree with you guys that age doesn't have to mean anything at all. I share your experiences; Both knowing very young people who are great at what they do, and people in their 20s who act like an ill-mannered brat. The point Lore was making was, I think, less about manners or skills, but more about organizational issues, like having your Internet privileges revoked by your parents etc., and you'll have to admit that the chances of this happening are usually bigger with a 14 year old than they are with a person in his/her 20s.
"Dealing with young raiders"...Sounds like if we are something bad.It looks like Lore is gonna make a guide: How to deal with these stupid, unreliable, bad, young raiders.Made by Lore. xDWe aren't so bad at all! Remember it! Watch this video.(maybe not as bad as i say, but still... it's unfair)

When they do it's fine! xD lol
Lore, you should come over to the Wowhead Vent chat sometimes, so we can chat about Daft Punk. /nod
I'm a younger raider, and as one i know of the problems you get with older raidleaders, like when you're whiping all the time and make a suggestion about changing the tactics, then they don't take you seriously, because you are younger, even with the most obvious problems, like I had in the guild i raided with in Wrath, it was a Dutch guild named <Legends of Holland> (Stormrage) and the people joining their raids didnt knew tacts and didn't brought flasks or food. When I pointed that out to the raidleader, it was ignored. I got shouted at, the raidleaders called me selfish, so I pointed out to them that i didn't want to raid with them anymore and they still let me stay in their guild. But as soon as i Pugged on Thursday (raid day) they got angry again, because i didn't want to come to their raids, so I shouldnt raid at all. Long story short, I left the guild, created a guild, left that guild, joined a social guild, left that after a few months to join a raiding guild, experienced the same issues there, left that guild and joined <Low Landers> which isn't that bad, but a little too ambitious for their skills, but at least they raid pretty good and they have a little more respect for their younger raiders and listen to them. But yeah, maybe I stay here for a while, or join another guild, we'll see.
if anyone was wondering...Its really really simple.
