Same problem here, jjfoxy55. Wowhead Client 1.2.1, Mac OS X 10.6.5, client working, but not uploading anything, because there's nothing to upload, because addon did not gather anything, because Client didn't install the addon.
For people that are on mac and having trouble getting the addon to install: Check your Interface and Addon folders to make sure they are writable by "admin" and "everyone" on Get Info palette (I did both so I'm not sure which you need to change). By default that folder is writable by your user but read-only to all other users, including the generic "admin". If that's the problem, you may then be able to install the addon by removing _all_ files that are added by the wowhead client -- all instances of the installer, the preferences file in your library, everything. Then download it fresh and reinstall it. Make sure you run through each screen of the options and set up your account. Then wait. It took a few minutes before the addon was copied into the addons folder. When you look for it, the addon folder is named +Wowhead_Looter, not just "Wowhead_Looter", so make sure you're looking under the right name. This was a problem for me this morning when I tried to install it, and this fix worked for me. YMMV.Of course, now I'm getting the other issue being reported for the mac client, where it finds "valid realm: us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com" and stalls...
There is something wrong with the clients procedure for coping the Addon to the Addons folder.I've tried many different types of "Rights" but none is working. Not even on a freshly new installation of OSX.Work Around :Locate the WOWHead-Client.appRight Click it, and choose Show Package Contents.Locate the +Wowhead_Looter folder.Press and Hold alt, then drag the +Wowhead_Looter to your WoW/Interface/Addons folder. Now you can atleast start gathering information and upload it with the client.Cheers!

Anuga, cheers for your advice, that helped. Now I'm at least where everyone else is – stuck at “Found valid realm: eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com”. I wish I finally forced myself to finish reading the Cocoa book, rewriting the Wowhead Client would be the first thing I'd do for sure.
I've got better solution, I started to use the unofficial Mac Wowhead Client yesterday and it works like charm. It downloads the most recent version of Wowhead Looter addon, and uploads all data correctly. It just feels weird that the unofficial version works smoother than the official one…
Gorstavich, check out this thread, it's dedicated to the unofficial Wowhead Client. Bear in mind this program isn't a GUI program, but “only” a shell (command-line) script you need to launch manually from Terminal.app anytime you are done with playing WoW and want to submit the collected data. You also need to do little initial configuration before you can launch the script for the first time by editing the source code, it's very well described in this post and it shouldn't cause you any troubles if you have some experience with shell.
I have the same problem. I download and install the client with no problems but when I check the addon folder there is no +Wowhead_Looter addon. The settings for the client are correct and it finds the us.worldofwarcraft.com server just fine. Would love a fix to the problem. :)
Not promising anything, but I'll sure try to check out during the weekend how difficult would it be to write proper, Cocoa version of Wowhead Looter.
