I feel like the gearing pinch is most severe on weapons? Like, I have absolutely no interest in PVP, and my work schedule isn't conducive to raiding. M+ is a dream, content-wise, for me. But there're virtually no weapon drops, and it seems like the only way to actually get new weapons that aren't 20+ ilvls behind the rest of my gear is PVP.
Sounds like a lot of complaining in this thread by people who dont actually enjoy playing the game anymore but cant think of anything else to do.I enjoy doing all content. I suck at pvp, but I like getting better at it though hard work. M+ is a fun challenge that feels great when you get a good group. I'll probably end up pugging a raid clear sometime this season. All in good time.Slowing down loot progression was obviously gonna rub some people the wrong way but I certainly prefer this to the infinite gear treadmill of the last few expansions
Looks like someone was reading the forums too much.It was written like you solo the game.Raiders and m+ people/teams trade gear. And i dont even wonna go into the item stats from pvp that the author forgot.
Honestly I really like the pvp gearing system right now as a pve and pvper because it allows me to fill in low ilvl slots after I did what I could for the week in pvp. And the fact that the conquest bar extends if you don't completely cap it in previous weeks.Raiding is about the same but less loot drops overall which is....meh. I see why they did it but now only a 15% loot chance in mythic raids vs the 20% that it was. However, they really need to stop gutting m+....Some people literally choose m+ as their progression and now they will just fall way behind if that's all they do. After they get all the end of dungeon loot they need(210), they will have very little incentive to do in m+ now except for weekly vault unlocks. That's a really lame way to play and you shouldn't have people doing all that work for just the weekly lockout loot. At least not this early into things. There was so much more incentive to keep doing them in BFA and Legion with TF/WF making their replayability much higher(as with everything else but that's a different argument). And now in BFA with at most a 40% chance of loot doing a timed run under a +15, it feels quite bad to be doing dungeons. Consider me one of those people that will now to the bare minimum in m+ when it was something I loved doing for decent upgrades. As a raider that fully clears heroic and has started dabbling in mythic raids, there is little reason a dungeon that barely has a chance for upgrades for me. Not sure why you guys just now decided that once again only raiders will be getting overall best gear. I would like to think that most people that enjoyed m+ and raiding were fine with m+ gear scaling closer to mythic raiding gear because it can sure be a challange. You punish us by gutting something we once could rely on more. This all being said, and a random side note, but I love the logistics of the weekly vault compared to the no choice chest of the last two expansions.
I hate how powerful PvP gear is in PvE. It should never be that way.PvP players have a mini stroke when PvE gear is required for arena. Why the double standard?
How long do you think people will continue to do the same content over and over for no reward. I already canceled my two subs. When I quit, my main was still using a 184 pvp weapon from honor because I could NOT get a ranged weapon from any other source. Not everyone has time to run M+ all day for the hope and dream of actually getting an upgrade. I forsee a lot of casuals canceling if something doesn't change with the current gearing system.
Gearing is also unbalanced outside the highest levels of play. In general, raiding vault feels super underpowered. Compare the difficulty of getting 220ish vault items from raiding and from m+. I don't like m+, I just want to raid, but m+ gives such enormously high ilvl in vault that I feel compelled to do a large number of high level m+ keys just because it blows raid vault options of similar difficulty out of the water. Doing a +10 is galaxies easier than raiding mythic, especially since you don't even have to time it for the vault to count!
Why is wowhead allowing posts with controversial topics like this one? Especially when it seems the author is writing this with an agendaThe writing is misleading, the author making their opinion sounds like facts, leaving out important details such as the difficulty of the content/achievabilityIn addition, some of the information is just wrongFor example:More than one opportunity to get a 226 piece per week. No, with the 550 conquest cap, you get a 226 piece every 2 weeks, because most of the major pieces are 700 and 875. And you get a 2 handed weapon in 4 weeks. This is not mentioning you need to get to 2100 rating first, which imo has a very high entrance gap and is not easily achieved if you never PvP'ed seriously, unless you go out and buy illegal boosts (which sounds a lot like what the author is suggesting btw)There are a lot more misinformation throughout the whole article, and it seems a lot like the author is trying to start drama rather than trying to be informative I just don't think this post should exist, on the front page of Wowhead of all places
The biggest issue with current PvP gearing is the fact that you need CURRENT rating to upgrade a piece with conquest which in turn is heavily weekly gated. So unless you're confident to push for glad you reach challenger/rival in one of the brackets and are forced to NEVER play it again just so you can have a source of gear for your conquest points. It really should be counting season highest.
Why can't they make all three things drop the same level gear? Why should mythic+ drop higher than raid in BfA, and lower than raid in SL?Why does Blizzard always try to incentivize people to do one thing over the other, knowing full well that everyone will flock to whatever is favor of the expansion?"Balance" is not when 33% people do pvp, 33% raids, and 33% do m+. Balance is when you get the same gear no matter what you do.
All gear should be separated. Problem solved.Content should be tiered. Raiding>PVP>M+. We play a MMORPG, the game is designed around stories. Raiding should ALWAYS be the peak of end game content. With that it should reward the best gear out there. The jailer is out here trying to pull some crazy stuff, and you guys think your 2v2 3 minute fights are going to stop him?Raiding should give the highest item level. Lets say 233ilvl (for example purposes)PVP should be similar ilvl but go back to a pvp stat system. Resilience OR make it so Versatility (like the current trinket bonus) gets buffed a certain % for each PVP gear piece equipped. This would make it so PVP gear was valuable over PVE gear to PVPers and not worth obtaining and feeling you have to grind for as a PVE player. M+ should be lower. As it is now. Maybe 5ilvls lower than any of the above. I personally believe this is the only system that makes sense right now. While I agree the end of dungeon loots is trash, seeing people cry that their M+ doesn't get Mythic raid quality gear is silly. It is too easy to get to +15 and just clear it, whether its in 15mins or 2 hours. With no lock out, hell no. M+ should be the lowest reward because it requires the lowest effort/time/and coordination.People hated on resilience, I know, but it solves the issue of pvp and pve players feeling they are required to do content they don't want to do.If it was my choice, M+ would give 0 gear. It would (every season) reward new and cool cosmetics and mounts like challenge mode did. I have never looked back and said, "Omg I am so happy I farmed this ring on m+ for weeks last tier!" but there isn't a moment I don't log on my pally and think, "God, I love this challenge mode set."
"Mythic+ers want to do Raid and PvP since they can't get 226 gear outside of their weekly vault"Well I understand what you are saying, but no, I won't be raiding or PvPing. Period. End of story. For me, if I keep playing the game will come down to if M+ remains fun and I gear up "reasonably well." It's really on Bliz, not me, I will not be playing parts of the game I don't enjoy to earn loot for the parts I do. That will just not happen I don't care how much they try. Every time I even tried such a thing in the past, it was completely not enjoyable. Done with that.So far, the great vault has been crap. Currency would be so much smarter and lead to longer term engagement from players. Bliz shoots themselves in the foot with their RNG-at-all-costs. As this article points out, as we get up to 223 ilevel, getting the slot you need will result in people leaving the game, the vault can't do it.
Feels like anyone who hate on us, that complain about new gearing system being bad, aren't playing the game at all. All we mean is it used to be a choice of doing whatever content we liked to get gear. What do you mean the old gear systems were ruining guilds? Everyone that had little bit of time spammed m+, for gear, for fun with friends, for RIO/wowprog score. Everyone that keeps saying how it is now is better is probably not playing the same game, or like they say, not playing all content. Nobody is saying m+ should give same ilvl as mythic raiding or as high end PvP rating. But to give less items than before and even less iLvl than heroic raiding? What are you saying? Means you aren't paying attention to stuff like this or to other people. We LOVE doing keys. But myself? Nah i don't love doing unrewarding keys. Many of you don't as well. I don't get why they're associating retail to classic gearing. Classic is boring, most people stopped playing it. I might be hated for saying this but, i miss BfA and i definetly miss Legion. We got too many systems, we got indeed catch up for alts but only on systems and we got less and less gear. Thank you and have a wonderful new year.
