Loving the new loot system tbh, if I could change something I would add a JP/VP type currency to the end chest in M+. I would cap this currency so it could not be spammed over and over. The currency should not necessarily allow you to buy gear but instead upgrade tokens increasing the m+ gear you already have upto a point just above heroic but below mythic raid loot. Heck maybe let the currency buy sockets also (as an alternative to the maw, not the only way to get a socket blizz!) This would help solve the disappointment when nothing drops and give m+ players something to work towards each week without it feeling like a chore. Whatever they land on in the future i do hope they keep loot rare like now as it feels so much better when something drops in a raid and you can actually put it on or trade it to someone who was perhaps a little unlucky. Same with getting the odd off item you were unlucky with from PVP. Feels way more rewarding than spamming m+ for hours on end start of a tier, jumping into heroic and smashing it to bits and most items going to the vendor. Or hitting mythic raid and most the loot being trash from the bosses you have not even killed. I really hope they stick to this rarity of loot and loot being loot and do not cave in to those who just want to spam 1 form of content early on, gear super quick and then moan they have nothing to do or get. I don't want to be above mythic raid ilvl with half the raid still left to clear and most if not all the drops from the remaining bosses being garbage that felt so bad.I, and i am sure allot here will know plenty of people who geared up quick in BFA from m+ and then just did not see the point in raiding so ether stopped raiding or stopped playing. Feels bad to gear so fast, it's not like you could just ignore m+ also and gear more slow that feels trash also not doing all you can to progress. Allot of guilds even required you to put some effort in progressing your toon outside of raids so not like you had a choice in gearing to fast. Loot being rare, and a bigger carrot dangling in front of you each time you raid that you can sometimes have bite from on is healthy. Having a tiny carrot dangling that you might never even get a nibble from, or no carrot at all sucks and feels pointless even trying to chase. M+ needs changes, it feels bad when you spend sometimes maybe even over and hour and get 35 anima. It's simply not rewarding enough. But having m+ drop more loot below heroic ilvl is not the answer. It might feel like the answer early on, but once you get all that loot after spamming it over and over (and lets admit it, you will, we all would be). We will then be moaning the ilvl is not high enough instead. Increasing the ilvl to the best you can get and devaluing other areas of the game is not cool ether long term (you give someone the carrot and just dangle the string they won't stay chasing it or be as happy chasing it.)TL;DRNo to spamable content that feels mandatory and devalues other areas of the game. They should never have went as far with m+ loot in BFA as they did it trashed the game for loads of people and ripped guilds to bits. No single form of content should give the best gear especially if its something you can spam! If you only like m+ then expect to be worse than someone who dabbles in everything.
Jesus, what a bunch of cry babies in the comments. Yes, you have to do PvP to get BiS gear, so what? PvP is a part of the game too, you know? It's like people forgot how for the whole duration of BfA you had to be a full time raider and do millions of M+ in order to PvP.
As someone that hates raiding and PVP, this expansion is pretty rough. They need to change the loot in M+.1 item for a failed key is insane. Most people leave if the key is failed. Why continue to struggle for 1 item? Needs to be 2 items for failed, and 3 in time.Item level needs to go up aswell. 203 for a +10 is too low. Normal raiding is a joke compared to a +10, yet it's the same loot.
TBH the easiest way to fix the loot is some badges or titan residuum or whatever you call it, where you can target loot you want to get. Or maybe let's extend the orb for weapon to orb for all item slots.
I HATE the possibility of targeted loot in PvE.... the game just gets to... mobil-y for me then. A currency? Great. Next you can buy it in the store. Or you have to grind it out like artifact power or do @#$% like islands for it. I rather wait 1-2 weeks longer before i have BiS than that bull$%^&.An people saying they did not get any loot for 2 weeks. What utter bull@#$%. I have not met 1! person who had actually problems with gearing. Also: Git that mythic raid/PvP max/weekly chest piece? Congrats. That piece of loot cannot be better until the next patch hits. You cannot have both. The amount of loot from BfA AND no TF/WF... that would be so boring. Everyone qould be finished in 3 weeks with gearing. And gearing IS a big part of wow. Make it to fast and you can remove it alltogether. No powergain. Just templates. And you know what you get? If you are bad you are bad. You will never outgear content. You will never kill the one boss until the next expansion hits.Honestly. The only part in wow where gearing should be removed is PvP. The rest is fine.
The other big "issue" with M+ is keys are a lot harder this tier compared to others while also giving less gear and at lower IL.The reward caps at +15 in a season where the highest keys pushed on Tyrannical are barely 18s and that is typically by mythic raiders who "overgear" the content. You are getting rewarded lower IL for a +15 in Nathria than a babymode +10 in Uldir and that is absurd.
While the great vault was a very intelligent addition with a corresponding reduction of drop rate of gear, I do wholeheartedly agree that current Mythic Plus gearing needs a little tweaking for the great vault.Only that instead of Titanforging, I’d increase the item level of the first reward (the highest keystone you completed) to match:+15 - 233 ilvlAfter and only after you unlock the second reward with the same KS level, a.k.a. After finishing 4x a +15 dungeon
M+ is a huge freaking mess right now. Worse than ever. I am 204 warlock with 450 rio and no one wants to take me even in 7+. Everyone just want to have MM hunters, shamans and druids. Metaslavery reached it's peak, many classes and specs are just out of the board and if you want to respec, sometimes you need to switch the covenant too. My class is literally unplayable for Mythic+ atm. And I've never encountered that amount of leavers. Many people leave after the first pack, when they see that something doesn't please them. I always knew that M+ community is the most toxic and garbage, but it's just getting out of hand, when Blizzard literally tells you that it's necessary to go for keys if you want some good loot. This needs to be fixed, thanks for PvP balance ofc, but M+ balance is still horrible. Make at least every class playable, make some penalties for leavers, for Gog's sake. Mythic+ is literally a competitive gamemode, which has it's own tournaments. It's like ranked matches in Dota, CS:GO or Valorant. It even has it's own unofficial ranked system (RIO). People waste an hour for a dungeon and toxic ruiners who put their own interests above everyone and didn't care about the problems they inflict on party members when they leave must be punished. Or make the party leavable only after voting, like the concede option in LoL.
I hate new gearing system. This is garbage. Bring back old loot amounts (3 items in m+ and 5 items in 20 man raids). Also increase M+ loot ilvl to be at least on par with Heroic raid.
I really like mythic plus dungeons and affixes this season but it’s not rewarding that much. trying to push my rank in pvp for gear but I suck lol.
blizzard has no content to offer. The maw is not fun, Torghast blizzard still trying to figure out how they can timegated it any further. Dungeon are melee unfriendly, classes are unbalanced, legendary are currently pay 2 win and flying through different zones takes ages. Can't really understand why people call that xpac the best since wotlk...
Well the Great Vault certainly is an improvment but it still sucks that in a week you can run 10 MM+ and have no good option only few weeks after the launch... (not even mentionning the *!@#ty stygia alternative...)The article lacks perspective. As a PVE player with no mythic raiding ambition, lacking 233 weapons is not that meaningful but not being able to upgrade my stuff on a weekly basis because either the heroic raid did not drop interesting pieces, because the end-of-dungeon pieces are way too low and because the GV are only offering !@#$ty options is a real problem and I am losing interest in playing the game. The loot reduction is not the issue, the lack of ways to target what you want is !What if, for example, the loots in the GV were only from the dungeons you ran this week? What if, when you loot on a boss in the raid, you ca choose one loot among all the loots that boss loot table? Those are just some ideas
PvP gearing is only not overpowered if mythic+ has a way to consistently give the same ilvl rewards, which is not happening right now. PVP gearing is therefore massively broken, and I feel especially bad for players who don't enjoy pvp who feel forced into doing it for the gear. The fix for this is quite simple however; a currency that mimics past systems and is similar to how conquest works. A badges of justice system that lets you work towards gear and to upgrade them based on keystone levels. You get given more badges on higher keystone levels. I strongly believe Blizzard will implement a similar currency. If nothing changes though, I'm predicting a mass sub exodus from fed up PvE players.
