Good Riddance. I was never happy with the mission system.
I liked the Legion version of mission tables the best. Rep tokens that became account bound if you were exalted (great for alts), and followers that could accompany you while doing world quests. BFA's was okay. I was able to keep all my alts up to date with their heart of Azeroths just from the mission table while at work. The rep was nice too but they removed the rep tokens once exalted. I made a lot of gold during WoD and loved that you could get gear from it too, but I'll take the Creation Catalyst instead. Shadowlands mission table was so scaled down that it's essentially worthless.
RIP WoW companion app...
Only part of Shadowlands i really don't like is the mission tables and the Queens Conservatory and other covenant equivalents so personally not gonna miss them.
I'm betting the Mission Table™ is the greater threat the jailor warned us about, it will be back!Seriously though, good riddance.. :P
Shadowlands MT is too complex and time consuming for a mini-game. IMO, legion had the mission table nailed pretty well. You could spend a few minutes sending out the missions, make a decent amount of gold, and then have the rest of your time to play the game. But in typical Blizzard fashion, rather than fix it they just discard it. I am convinced that this game will continue to slide into oblivion until there are some major personnel changes. For the first time in a long time I am looking for a new game to play.
pog
While I couldn't stand the mission table, I do know that lots of people did like it, especially for farming purposes. I hope they come up with something else that could be a 'mini game' type activity. I wouldn't mind if it doesn't happen in Dragonflight but could see it happening later.
no table, thank god. The complexity of it now is not worth the effort for the rewards.
Footnote to my previous post: If Blizzard were Apple they would have discarded the iPhone after they had problems with the first few prototypes. "We've decided to focus on our core competency...the iMac is where the future is!"
I understand that people are concerned over gold and resources, ultimately though I think it's good to get rid of this feature entirely. Even in it's better iterations, it just reminded me too much of old browser games from the early 00's and even today's mobile games. There was no gameplay joy in it really, you just click a few things, wait a bit and next time you log in (if not sooner) you got some resources. Felt dumb doing them, felt dumb not doing them. I just hope that the lack of resources/gold/augment runes etc generated by this aspect of the game, will be found elsewhere! If they ever bring it back, I really hope it will be something a bit more involved and interesting. Basically, if this feature can be completely automated with an addon, is it even a game?PS: turns out O Game still exists! xD
If they add another mission table they should look at Hearthstone's mercenaries mode or pet battles or something and just have you do short battles with your dudes and level them not this annoying system of waiting 8 hours for autobattler result. More active involvement, instant results, ability to try again if you fail.
YUS FINALLY!man it's been a long time since i've been actually excited for a wow expansion
I liked doing the mission tables until 9.1.5 came out because I switch covenants so often now that I don't get a chance to finish my missions, nor do I have the same drive to get all my followers to 60 again on every covenant. They also haven't added any new content to the mission table nor bothered to scale up the item pieces to even match what you get from the current world zone.
Ive loved the mission table since WoD (my favorite expansion since wotlk). i hate that the nerf the mission tables for new expansions, i think the wod mission table as well as garrisons could be reworked to give us the player housing we want and a way to obtain new cosmetics for it, part through missions part through dungeon and raids. The mission table was literally the only thing that kept me interested in this dumpster fire of an expansion that is shadowlands. Its also one of the worst mission tables and most annoying to get followers for. In past expansions you could at least have a good idea if you would succeed a mission but shadowlands tried to make it a true mini game with its own meta which would require a lot of memorizing useless info. I already was on the fence about the new expansion but no mission table definitely making me lean more toward no thank you. need much more info on how "alt friendly" its going to be. because they said shadowlands would be alt friendly only because lego memories are account wide.. i have 48 max lvl chars let me tell you.... SL is the worst expansion ever for alt play.
